2017 Oliver

While staring at the wiring around the charge controller (trying to make sense of it).

I noticed this, after 7 years…

No wonder the hose on the outside shower seemed less than useful.

Looks like someone was not paying attention when installing the jack.

That jack installation is too involved to miss a shiny chrome hose wrapped around it.  My guess is that the hose was install, or reinstalled after a problem, and was accidently wrapped around the jack.  Of course, no one checked to see if the hose had full mobility before the sent it out the door.

That hose must have been wrapped around the jack on purpose.

The dang hose gets caught on something always. OTT should have it in a holding tube so that it can be pulled out and back in smoothly. OTT installs the shower head with hard 90 degree PEX and our gets caught on that often. I have to get under my bed AGAIN to free it before our next trip. I've wrapped the 90s with loom and it hasn't helped.

I need to figure out something else this time. I need the FULL length of the hose to fit it into an exterior mount I added to get it held above my head height! Like to shower outside whenever we're boondocking in decent weather. The inside shower isn't tall enough and I prefer not getting the bathroom wet. Our wet-bath shower is mainly for Chris. I've only used it a few times.

I attached a nylon mesh bag on the back to keep the hose from catching on anything. Before that it was always push-pull until I was able to get the whole line out.

How did you attach it, fix it so it will stay put?

I weaved a large zip tie used for air conditioning ductwork through the top of the mesh bag to make a "mouth" in it that would keep it's shape. I then used two smaller zip ties to mount it to the dump valve cables that are on each side of where the shower hose is so the shower hose would always stay in the bag. My setup looks much different than yours from the back so I don't know if this method would work for you or not.

I haven't looked inside that area with the mindset of correcting this problem, but why couldn't you use a plastic slip sheet, cut to length, fold it over to make a loose tube and rivet it together.  The hose should nest inside of the tube and will keep it from catching on anything.
