John E Davies
What do folks use, and how would it mount on an Ollie so that it is easy to see when backing up? On top off the propane cover at the very front, using brackets? I have this one on my wish list: https://www.amazon.com/Camco-25563-AccuLevel/dp/B000EDUTOA/ref=pd_sbs_263_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000EDUTOA&pd_rd_r=DBXB487VTAHFT8TFGR5A&pd_rd_w=5I78m&pd_rd_wg=MgSN0&psc=1&refRID=DBXB487VTAHFT8TFGR5A The cheaper version does not get good reviews. I had one many moons ago and was not impressed with it.: https://www.amazon.com/Camco-25533-Trailer-Level/dp/B005BNYWXW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1488567435&sr=8-4&keywords=rv++level+large The idea is to get as close to level side to side by a little backing, before using the stabilizers or just for a quick rest stop. I plan to use lots of undeveloped camping spots. Thanks. KarenLukens
If you have bad vision that might be needed, but 4" - 5" long is plenty for me. Go into a Walmart or Camping World and look at them in person. Set them up and then stand back 15 feet and buy the one that you can see. At night I can shine a flashlight on it. The $3.00 cheapie works fine for me but I'm far sighted and can see them all clearly. KarenLukens
This is the Hopkins thru the rear view mirror. I can see it easily and I tucked it right up against the seam so it shows in the top of my mirror. I can see the level lines thru the mirror also but the camera was lost today with all of the daylight. 2 Happy Camping, Reed & Karen Lukens with Riffles our Miniature Poodle 2017 Oliver Legacy Elite II Standard, Hull #200 / 2017 Silverado High Country 1500 Short Bed 4x4 Past TV - 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML350 4Matic BlueTEC Diesel Click on our avatar pic above to find the videos on our Oliver Legacy Elite II
John E Davies
Thanks, but I think I would like a bigger one. My vision is not great, and my Ram does not have a rear wiper for the canopy glass, so things behind it are often blurry or obscured by grime. I do like that location, it is very neatly tucked away. The bigger 25563 one I linked to is 3 inches high. I don't think it will fit there but it would work just above it, on the joint flange. Do you concur? KarenLukens
The only way to tell is to try it to make sure that you can see it. I have mine up top so that I can see over the load in the back of the car. It also would have worked just above the 6" propane access door. I would just put it at eye height, it will work either way :) Happy Camping, Reed & Karen Lukens with Riffles our Miniature Poodle 2017 Oliver Legacy Elite II Standard, Hull #200 / 2017 Silverado High Country 1500 Short Bed 4x4 Past TV - 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML350 4Matic BlueTEC Diesel Click on our avatar pic above to find the videos on our Oliver Legacy Elite II
KarenLukens
We're in Sedona, AZ and met a friend with this level on his. It's huge and also easy to see. It's actually in an aluminum frame though you can't tell from the add. Honestly, it makes me jealous because it's so nice and easy to see :) https://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-04115-Metal-Rear-Level/dp/B000FGKBU8/ref=cm_wl_huc_item Happy Camping, Reed & Karen Lukens with Riffles our Miniature Poodle 2017 Oliver Legacy Elite II Standard, Hull #200 / 2017 Silverado High Country 1500 Short Bed 4x4 Past TV - 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML350 4Matic BlueTEC Diesel Click on our avatar pic above to find the videos on our Oliver Legacy Elite II

Moderator+ ScubaRx Posted March 19, 2017 Moderator+ Share Posted March 19, 2017 I can't tell from the photos, but I would use VHB double stick tape. KarenLukens
He used 3M double sided tape; and because the Casita is rounded, he layered it on the top and bottom corners to get it to sit flat at 90° perpendicular or vertically to have it perfectly level. You can see the tape under the edges in the pic above. 1 Happy Camping, Reed & Karen Lukens with Riffles our Miniature Poodle 2017 Oliver Legacy Elite II Standard, Hull #200 / 2017 Silverado High Country 1500 Short Bed 4x4 Past TV - 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML350 4Matic BlueTEC Diesel Click on our avatar pic above to find the videos on our Oliver Legacy Elite II
John E Davies
That is pretty much what I am looking for but that particular level gets a lot of negative reviews at Amazon. I would avoid it. The Camco AccuLevel gets better reviews and looks pretty much the same except it has no numbers. If that Casita owner leveled his trailer side to side, then why is his level not reading correctly? I suspect because the ball sticks, as reported. One reviewer has to use a strong magnet to run the ball back and forth to loosen the green algae that grew on it! These levels are not well sealed, LOL. KarenLukens
I could also see air up in the top edges but the size is right. I like my small ones and I also have a large circular bubble on the tongue because the one on the jack isn't accurate. After seeing Steve & Tali's, I think all of the trailers should have jack switches inside the trailer with levels inside on the walls. We have levels inside also. The acculevel does get better reviews but one guy was saying that all of the mercury levels or whatever metal that is, have the same problem. All you can do is try them until you find one that you like. 1 Happy Camping, Reed & Karen Lukens with Riffles our Miniature Poodle 2017 Oliver Legacy Elite II Standard, Hull #200 / 2017 Silverado High Country 1500 Short Bed 4x4 Past TV - 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML350 4Matic BlueTEC Diesel Click on our avatar pic above to find the videos on our Oliver Legacy Elite II
