carnivore
As far as mattresses on the twin bed model, are there any opinions on using a Southern Mattress brand as an alternative to the KTT?
Moderators mossemi Posted May 2, 2019 Moderators Share Posted May 2, 2019 We have the Southern Mattress's and really like them. Like Oliver, they are family owned and operated, very easy to deal with and will customize the mattresses to your choices. Our LEII was originally a standard bed configuration which the factory converted to a twin beds. Southern Mattress shipped the mattresses to Hohenwald, so they where ready to go when we returned. No regrets. Mike and Krunch Lutz, FL 2017 LEII #193 “the dog house”
Geronimo John
We have the twin beds as well, and decided to go with a simple 6" memory foam mattress. on top of the stock one. A few minutes with a butcher knife and it was customized to the radius drawing of the trailer. Amazon: Zinus M-FMS-600N 6 Inch Memory Foam Mattress, Narrow Twin, $96. Our thought process was that we sleep on a four inch over our mattress/box spring, so go with the 6" and the stock mattress. It worked out very well and we did not need a bank loan to pay for it. One suggestion is if you go this route, have Oliver shorten the height of the back seat cushions that lay on top of the mattress against the wall and around the corner to the center cabinet. Rumline
I think it would depend on your mattress preferences. The KTT is a latex mattress, which we prefer, but others may prefer a different material or construction. We did add a 2" topper, at least for the winter, since when temps are cold latex (as well as most foams) gets firmer. 2018 OLEII #344 | 2018 Ford Expedition
