SissyBoyFloyd
Non-stop, who, what, and for how long has anyone full timed it? Any records known about or set? What's your personal one in months, years, miles traveled consecutively or whatever? Anyone planning forever? If you ever see me, simply pretend I am not there. Moderators topgun2 Posted May 23, 2019 Moderators Share Posted May 23, 2019 To get the ball rolling - I spend two months each summer living in my Ollie. Most of this time is spent in the Rockies at altitude while fly fishing. SissyBoyFloyd
My wife and I have lived and traveled in our LE2 since delivery May 2nd 2018. It’s been great. If I may ask, what % of the year did you stay in private campground, state or national park, family/friends property, and boondock? What do you think you spent on overnight parking for the year or on average per month? Thx If you ever see me, simply pretend I am not there. MrBig1
First of all let me state that this year didn't go exactly as planned. What we intended to be an extended visit to our home state of 6 weeks ended up being 6 months mainly due to unforeseen doctor visits. That being said, the year was split half and half driveway surfing and camping on government lands. For staying on government lands and us being over the age of 62 we have the Senior Pass America the Beautiful. This pass gives a 50% price break while staying in the multitude of government controlled lands. Check it out online, well worth the $80 price. I can't answer your question specifically because I didn't keep records but the most I spent per night was $12 and the least I spent was $2.50. Free is an option on BLM land but you don't need a pass for that. All of these places offered no hookups. Dry camps all with potable water at some local point. For water I carry an additional 50gal in my truck bed and go into camp with my fresh tank full. This year I don't plan on getting blind sided and stuck in the home state. I hope I've learned from past mistakes. Learn something new all the time. roguebooks
Since April 16, 2018 my wife and I (plus big dog) have slept in our 18.5' Elite 100% of the time except for short plane trips to help family or attend function. There have been a couple hotel visits in nearby Tallahassee for doctors. Other than that, every night in the Ollie either on the road or at base camp in Florida. We like the Florida State Parks and get the geezer discount so we generally pay around $12 per night. On the road we find ACoE parks to be the best suited for our needs (They generally have washers and dryers). Those stays average around $12 per night as well due to the senior lifetime geezer pass I paid $9 for. We are heading west in June for the summer and hope to find several boondocking locations, the occasional full hook-up park, and also use our Harvest Hosts membership for quick overnights. 3 roguebooks 2020 Ram Classic 1500 Warlock 4x4 Hemi V-8 2018 Legacy Elite, Hull #
