Nancy K. Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Considering a short winter trip to the St. Simons, Cumberland Island, Jekyll Island, possibly Savannah, GA area. Only concern is the smell from the Brunswick pulp plant. Anyone have thoughts on that and recommendations for campgrounds? "Creativity is the fun of putting together unexpected ideas." Hazel Edwards
gatorewc Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Crooked River State park in St. Mary's GA is a great spot. Large lots! The pulp smell is not noticeable. We have a house across Crooked River on the marsh and we never smell the mill. Once you get near Bruinswick the smell is noticeable if the wind is blowing in the right direction. There is a campground on Jekyll but I have not driven through it in a long time. 1 Erv & Sherry Hull # 650 2024 Lariat SD 250 6.2 diesel
Cool Ghoul Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Jekyll is one of my favorite spots. Great bike riding areas... lots to explore.
