John C Marsh Jr Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 I receive an error code 9 when plugged into my preditor 2000 15 amp generator. Does not appear to be charging batteries. Any ideas would be welcome. Xantrex ap reads as attached.
Moderators SeaDawg Posted September 14, 2021 Moderators Posted September 14, 2021 @John M Do you have a neutral ground plug? Photo is from Amazon, but you should be able to get one at any camping world or rv supply, or make one. 2008 Ram 1500 4 × 4 2008 Oliver Elite, Hull #12 Florida and Western North Carolina, or wherever the truck goes.... 400 watts solar. John C Marsh Jr Posted September 15, 2021 Author Posted September 15, 2021 Thanks, I have the ground plug now and all is working fine. Only problem, my 2,000 watt Preditor (1,60p watt running) generator overload light is on when charging the lithium battery. Everything is unplugged.
Swamp Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 Your inverter, ie Xantrex Freedom XC Pro 3000 (installed in my 2021 LE II), can be programed, and it should be set up from Xantrex to take a charging current of 30A. https://support.olivertraveltrailers.com/portal/en/kb/articles/xantrex-freedom-xc-pro-inverter-settings With a neutral grounding plug, a must, that may be to much of a draw for a 2000 or 2200 smaller geni. You then need to go into the inverter programing and turn that value down to meet the capabilities of your geni. Granted you will then be doubling your charge time provide you have no other load on the system. LCTraveler Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 The variable you need to change in the Xantrex is P28. I have similar size generator and I have set p28 to 13.0 amps. This seems to work well and keeps the generator out of overload. Programming the Xantrex using the phone app is the easiest way to access the parameters. Let me know if I can help guide you on using the app. Mike 2 TV 2018 F150 3.5 liter eco-boost with max tow package, hull #836 “LC”
BlueHighways Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Good point about editing P28 to match your generator. With the same generator and lithium setup we only ran the generator once in 10 days on our last trip. Rather than editing that variable, I made sure nothing was running and was able to charge from 55% to 95% in about 95 minutes of run time. I've charged from 20% to full in 90 minutes with my Predator 3500.
