Nope, are you asking for a recommendation? I am a fan of the CRKT knives, I carry one daily VERY similar to that Benchmade, it seems like a very nice knife for about 1/3 that price. It’s no longer in the catalog, but here are 5 pages to browse through. I purposely chose a blade just under 2.5” because Federal law prohibits longer ones inside government buildings. It does have the round thumb assist hole, which works well for one handed deployment.

I also quite like the ESEE knives, I have a much bigger fixed blade for camping. Maybe you should elaborate. I personally baulk at a price much over $100 for a cutting tool I might lose.

I don’t have a Griptillion, but I do have a Benchmade made Emerson CQC7 model 970. Superb quality and great blade material. Only thing I’d change is the single-sided bevel.

A friend has a discontinued Benchmade I wish I’d snagged. Similar to the Griptillion, but with a hard rubber scale instead of the current wonder plastic. 164671060_benchmade970cqc7.jpg.02195fa4695dfd8e5dff256626a14915.jpg

I own 4 Benchmade knives……they are all top shelf.  No wiggle and they hold an excellent edge.  The 4 I have include one folding blade, and 3 automatics.  In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with Benchmade.  Just find the one that feels most natural in your hand.

No I am not looking for advice. And I agree that that I would be really distressed we’re I to lose something that cost that much.

The point of my post is that I found this knife, it is in great shape and I have reason to believe it was lost by someone who owns an Oliver.

If someone has lost this knife, please let me know where you were camped when you last had it.

Me me! I was camped right next to you…… 😬

This is similar to what my wife went through a month ago, on her walk she found a folded in half $100 bill. How can you word a “Found” ad for something like that?

Good luck on the quest, if you don’t want to keep it, sell it here in the Ollie classifieds. I might buy it.

Good try there,  John. I found a hundred dollar bill while walking our dogs years ago. Tali demanded I give to her for safekeeping. I never saw it again.

I kept the one Jac found, and it is going toward a set of snow tires for her new RDX.

My latest is Spyderco Dragonfly 2(got it for my backpack with survival gear https://gritroutdoors.com/outdoor-survival/ ), it's a pretty good folding knife.

How's CRKT and Benchmade compared to Spyderco? Mostly been buying Spyderco ones, but thinking about getting something new (also X-mas sales soon, so might aswell 😄 )

I haven’t handled a Spyderco, but I did handle a new $160 Benchmade and a $300 Benchmade. Both were noticeably better than my $40 KRKT. Think Mercedes vs Chevy. The $300 had a carbon fiber handle and better steel and felt wonderful. The mechanisms were very slick and positive. But I would have chosen the cheaper one for actual use. Money no object, the CF would make a great choice for a collector…. My suggestion is to go to Sportsman’s Warehouse or Cabelas and handle a few before spending that much money.

But I still would never carry any really nice knife when camping… But if Steve sells that one he found, I would be interested.
