  1. Thanks John. I have the new coupler ready to do this same project. Did you use some cold galv or repaint the bare metal parts of the new coupler after your filing? I was also thinking of using new bolts... I don't have a press, but may take it to a machine shop and ask them to do the holes.
  2. Looks nice and quiet. Are you on the area by the lake or up the hill?
  3. Taking 95 to 55? Cascade is a beautiful area....as is McCall. Last time on that road I was pulling a 30ft ORV....one of these days I'll get use to White Bird Pass :) Wish we could buzz up there for the weekend but our dog just had surgery for cancer and need to keep a good eye on her over the weekend.
  4. I know OTT is now using ASI 335 or ASI butyl rubber sealant. There are a couple items topside that do not appear to be sealed at all. Namely the Winegard satellite dish and its cable entry. Since these are already installed I imagine I don't need to use the more expensive 335 sealant and can use the butyl rubber sealant around the feet and on the screws of the dish and over the coax cable entry? Or is the 335 better to use? FYI Best Materials has both at the lowest prices I've found. Thanks
  5. I just bought and installed these and they look and fit great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KYLM6CD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The size is 29-32" Greg
  6. Hi all! I have been looking for the battery cutoff switch...with no success. I did a forum search and found some posts indicating there is no such switch. But I also found this one that does show a switch of sorts under one of the beds with the solar hardware. Apparently the top right breaker can be used as a switch to isolate the batteries from everything else except the solar charging and there's another one to disconnect that. Is this what most people do or is an additional regular batter On/Off switch also recommended? With those two breakers off there should be no need for any fuses to pull or switches to check, if I am understanding this. https://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/battery-storage-in-the-winter/ Thanks Greg
  7. I plan to make this mod as well. Are the hoses necessary? Can the tank be installed vertically with a double female fitting to the pump output and then a 90 degree elbow to the valve connection? If there is not enough height clearance for vertical mounting, the same connections can be made but the adjuster will be outboard. Thanks Greg
  8. Great idea...thanks Raspy and John! One of the reasons for the new truck was to not have to mess with the WDH, though certainly not the only reason. :)
  9. You're right John. Payload is 4,220. Thanks!
  10. Payload is 5,920 lbs. USS Ollie arrived today!
  11. Thanks for this John. I took delivery of #266 today and couldn't get furnace on. When I remembered your post I grabbed a bag of ice and held it against the thermostat for a couple minutes and bam....heater popped on. Greg
  12. Good choice. I just picked up a Ram 3500 SRW mega cab Limited with the ram boxes and cargo management. Love it. I may add a bed slide. Greg
  13. [postquote quote=180063][/postquote] The Black series 15 and 19 have the same ability and provide a 1.5 inch hose. Greg
  14. Thanks! A bit extreme but decided to get a new truck. 2017 ram 3500 Laramie Limited mega cab. I missed my ram dually I had before. I may need to use the rear camera to make sure Ollie still there. :) So I'll be using a BW stow and go. The truck hitch is right at 23 inches. Does anyone think a receiver with 7 inch drop is too much or should I go for the 5 inch one? Thanks Greg
  15. Considering trading in my Sierra 1500 SLT Max Tow 6.2L. Did a test drive on a 2016 3500 Duramax/Allison Sierra....NICE. Surprisingly smooth ride for a 1-Ton. Also drove a Ram 3500 turbo diesel Limited. Also very nice. Quieter than the GMC...but the ride was not quite as nice...of course these had no loads. Plus the Ram had the truck bed boxes and the cargo features found in the Limited. Both had around 21K miles. Both right around $54K. Gulp! Greg
  16. Nice Area. This is very close to the ORV / Northwood facility in LeGrande. They do their annual Rallies there...I think. Tick Tock....
  17. Thanks for your service Monica!! Retired Navy here... :) We're in the waiting phase right now.....still working on the name. Safe travels! Greg
  18. Check these out. All I've read indicates they excellent. *** Also, they've made them for Ollies already and have all the necessary dimensions. Not inexpensive however...around $700. https://calmarkcovers.com/ Greg
  19. Thanks Bill. That was my source as well. I did read the part about the WDH over 7K lbs. Since that is the max of the Ollie I will not be over that. More likely around the 6K weight. I don't travel with water, rather get it nearby a camping location. Lots of gear in the truck as well. The truck does have the stabiltrak anti-sway feature. Tnx Greg
  20. I don't know if I will have an issue or not. But has anyone who has, tried these gizmos? The install between the regular and overload springs to engage the overload spring right away. https://www.etrailer.com/Vehicle-Suspension/GMC/Sierra+1500/2018/TLA7310S.html?vehicleID=201887455 Thanks Greg
  21. Can someone please tell me if the LE II now comes with 3500 lb or 5200 lb axles? Also, what is the Michelin tire size (not just the 16"......235/75R16??? Thanks Greg
  22. Hi all. I've been debating the hitch options. I have an equalizer hitch already....I recall it has the 1400-lb bars...maybe the 1K (not used for some time). But all the reading I can find says these are not compatible with Ollie without FG modification on the tongue. So I sort of resigned myself to the Andersen option with all its flaws (and pluses). But now I am thinking if I should even bother. TV is a 2018 Sierra 1500 6.2L V8 Ecotec shortbed double cab with max tow options (added spring and other gizmos). HP 420 and torque is 480. Towing max is 11,700 and payload is 2,110. If I add up passengers, fuel, cargo, aprox hitch weight and a generous tongue weight (800) i'm still almost 500 lbs below payload (need to check GAWR). Do you think it's safe to drive home (Idaho) without using the WDH or should I get it as an added safety margin? Thanks!! Greg
