  1. Have had the natures head in our trailer for two years now. Pretty easy to deal with. Change outs are simple and you don't have to do them that often. Scotty
  2. Sooner or later Tow Vehicle threads wander into the area of ..... "Do I really need a weight distributing hitch?" Read this before you decide that: https://www.hardworkingtrucks.com/get-sued-tow-trailer-with-pickups/ Best of Luck and Safe Travels, Scotty
  3. Thanks for the tip John. We have a loooooong to do list at the new house. I think garage lighting will have a pretty high number. For now, we are just glad she is under a roof... secure... and will be at home instead of an hour away in storage. To work on her, i will probably just pull her out into the sunlight. But lighting is something to think about. Good News is I didn't hit that fluorescent fixture when I backed her in. :-) Safe Travels, Scotty
  4. Buzzy, So sorry to hear of your loss. We still hope our paths cross sometime in the future. We are in process of selling our NJ home and moving to Mars Hill NC. (Mars Hill is about 20 minutes north of Asheville) We bought a home that has a garage BIG enough to fit our trailer in. Hope you have a great camping season. We are planning on attending the 2019 Oliver Owners Rally, so maybe we can share a campfire and a beer or two with you there. Here's a pic of the Flying Sea Turtle in her new home. Gregg & Donna
  5. Fine... give them all the editorial control they want. But BOLT THE DAMN THINGS DOWN on the article trailer. Thanks for the info David. Sorry we didn't get a chance to talk at the rally. Next one, we need to have a few beers over the campfire. Take Care, Scotty
  6. Jason, very glad to see the article in Trailer life magazine on the LE2. However, I was VERY NOT GLAD to see pictures of the small storage areas that ONLY Oliver owners should know about in the article. Don’t know if the folks that allowed the pictures to be taken were Oliver associates or “helpful” owners but anything you can do to discourage this in the future would be very much appreciated. This (yes I am being intentionally vague even here) is a great feature of your trailer, but NOT a selling feature. Please PM me if you have any questions. And btw..... this is not the first time this has happened in this publication. Thanks, Scotty
  7. A hum from the HW50C (under the port side bed) started about a year ago. It was never there before and it can get annoying when trying to sleep. Only when plugged in to shore power. PI said to try cleaning the contacts - that didn't work. Donna says it doesn't bother her, but it drives me a bit crazy... mostly because I suspect it should NOT be there. Was your unit from under the bed or from the unit under the dinette table. Gregg OOPS... think i am confusing Progressive Dynamics and Progressive Industries.
  8. Ollie's are like extra terrestrials..... If you don't get a picture..... It wasn't there! Still no guess's on the Oliver at Campfire Lodgings? It's an early one, but I can't say whose. Pete, this looks a lot like the wonder egg... Do you recognize it? Scotty
  9. Thanks for the update. Things are getting a bit hectic with us getting ready for both the rally and a move. See you all soon. Scotty
  10. You can run.... but you can't HIDE! We plan to stay Campfire Lodgings north of Asheville NC on the way down to Lake Guntersville AL. So... I did a bit of internet cruising to see what that campground was like. I found a youtube video with a drivethrough including the road up to the campsite. And in the video.... I noticed an OLIVER! Look at the screenshots taken from the video and see if you can identify the Oliver! Video was taken around August of 2016. I have a pretty good idea of who this is but I will let the forum detectives have first shot. EDIT... on second thought... I might be wrong. "The games afoot Watson!" Scotty
  11. Ahhhh... OK... got it. Click on the link just below Chris's name. NOT on the attachment list below the map.
  12. I still can't figure out how to download an attachment on the forum. Thought it was my version of word but can't get this to download either. I have tried double clicking on it. Right click and save as doesn't work. Anyone know how to do this? Instructions? Thanks in advance and thanks Chris for adding info. Scotty

  14. Hi Everyone..... We are getting short on time before the rally. Here is the rally list I have been compiling. Please note that I had some private communication with Oliver about getting info from them as to who is coming so we could have a complete list. They chose not to collaborate on this due to privacy concerns and I fully understand their position. This list is compiled from replies to this forum topic and only contains information which was shared or is available on members profile. I will be pretty busy getting ready for the rally and work and other stuff... so I won't be updating this after today. Looking forward to meeting everyone. Safe Travels to AL! Scotty I pasted the text into a post because of download issues. It is a work .doc file but something on the site does not like that. Formatting is snafu... sorry about that. But at least you can paste into word or whatever and correct the format and print. 2018-Oliver-Rally-CAMPER-LIST.doc
  15. I will play at least one day. Gregg
  16. Mary, Are you referring to the Anderson weight distributing hitch? Scotty
  17. Carole, Try unplugging the back of the blue sky box. You will need to unscrew the panel and then unplug a telephone wire from the back. Leave it like that for about a minute and then plug it back in and re-install. I had my display go blank and that's what blue sky advised. It did fix the problem. Good Luck Scotty
  18. Happy Christmas and New Years! Looking forward to seeing a bunch of you at the Rally in May. Safe Travels, Gregg & Donna Scott & Piper the Westie
  19. The time will go fast. Have a Happy Holiday and New Year and spring will be here before you know it. Don't be afraid to sleep at Wal Mart or Cracker Barrel on the way home. That will let you get more miles on a travel day. Look into the All Stays camping app for ipad or iphone (maybe others). It's very helpful on the road to find the resources you will need. Welcome to the family. Scotty
  20. You guys are absolutely fantastic at doing two things: A.) Alleviating my fears about something that is / might happen to my beloved Oliver Trailer B.) Creating new fears about something that is / might happen to my beloved Oliver Trailler All kidding aside I love this forum and that we are kind of in this together instead of alone so please take my attempt at humor with a grain of salt. Last year was the first winter our trailer was stored and we had no issues with the panels or batteries whatsoever. So, I thought it would be the same this year. We store the trailer with the nose down as far as it will go, so there should be some slant to the panels. It's stored in the open in northern NJ so they will get snow covered, but I am not overly concerned about damage to the panels themselves. The snow, ice, whatever won't be there more than a few days and will probably melt from the Sun even in cold temps. What does concern me is the AGM batteries. How many days without recharge from the panels will they stay charged? I would think that 4-5 days with minimal draw would be fine. It was last year. But you never know. I remember a post about this where the batteries stay charged up even with cold temps etc. but as always everyone's mileage will be slightly different. So, what do you think? Do I need to drive an hour (one way) to check and brush? Thanks everyone.... Hope for a short winter so we can get back out there. And, hope to see many of you in May at the Rally. Scotty
  21. Reed, We checked just about everything on the disconnect issue. I traced all the wires and everything was hooked up the way it was supposed to be. It drove us crazy and that's why I started the disconnect thread. David S. suggested the Towready and I owe him a cold one ... or TWO.. at the May rally. Curious as to where you found the bad ground with the trailer. Did you trace the white wire to the ground block? That's what I did. Reluctant to dig into it again unless there is a reason. It really caused a lot of headaches and using the Towready is cake. The other thing I really like about our TV is the 36 gallon gas tank. It's nice to have 400 mile range while towing. Thanks and travel safe, Scotty
  22. I am with Pete on this one. Even if it is cold out the Sun will melt away a lot of snow on the panels. Our trailer is in storage over the winter and we can't clean the snow off. When we pick up in spring.. Full Charge! Scotty
  23. We drove e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g.... really EVERYTHING before choosing the F-150. The silverado was by far the most comfortable. Even over the large SUV's like the Tahoe and Suburban. In the end the choice came down to the F-150 and the Silverado. We went Ford because of the pro backup assist. Things I like about the F-150: Power (ecoboost engine), pretty comfortable, looks, Pro back up assist and the gas mileage (avg 12 mpg with premium) Things I am not so thrilled about: trans is not as smooth as others - have had issues with the sync screen - and the dreaded trailer disconnect message (but the Towready fixed that so no more bells ringing) I too am not thrilled about the square look of the Chevy, but when you drive the damn thing you have to admit it is a solid tow vehicle. Reed, Best of Luck with it. Travel safe and thanks for all your posts and knowledge. Scotty
  24. I was at Hohenwald a few weeks ago to get some work done and had a chance to meet Scott Oliver. We talked about that series of videos for delivery day. That is definitely on their radar. My thoughts were that it would simplify and shorten the time needed to launch / deliver a trailer. This is something that was a concern in the past. (talked to Tommy Staggs about it) The videos would pay benefit both ways. For Oliver, it shortens the delivery time and saves man hours there and for future calls. For owners, it would be a ready source of information on how systems work and how to correctly perform maintenance like winterizing. Hopefully they move this project up the list. Anyways..... Welcome to the family. Hope you have many enjoyable trips in your Ollie and that our paths cross sometime ... somewhere in the future. Scotty
  25. Perfect time to update the List! I have started a list of attendees for the 2018 rally a will update as information comes available. The list is in progress and contains basic info such as, Names, forum name, Spot #, home state, and hull#. We also have a GOLF list in progress with just 4 people who are planning to play. I thought that this basic info will help everyone get to know each other but won't be intrusive as the info is available on the forum. I have attached the word file and will also paste it in below my signature. If you want to be added or correct / add any info please either post to this thread or PM me. Let me know if you want to play GOLF as well. Quick Question for Matt Duncan: Matt, would you be comfortable sharing your list with either me (to add to this list) or with the group directly. Happy to be the main point of contact on this but your info would help make sure we reach everyone.
