  1. Maybe if they put the # of views in the header, you could see right away how many times people have seen it. We have voices & posts on there now and I've always liked seeing the number of topic views because that's normal in many forums and it lets you know for sure how many times a topic has been looked at. Maybe just rename Campgrounds and Parks or add them all together. Also, I think location for many of us is an issue... I've read your thread a couple times and seen the pics, but alas I'm stuck right now on the west coast :) Reed
  2. It's a bit windy here on the west coast and I bought these really nice paracord adjusters on Amazon and thought that I would pass them on because they really work great :) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013FOVIGC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Then I bought these stakes and they came with the 4 pieces of paracord that made the perfect combo for securing our awning in the wind with the Awning Deflapper Max https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AT2L34A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I'm using rocks to hold the cords down here at the Pacific Ocean but the stakes work when used. A week on the ocean :) Reed
  3. Here's a few pics of our food cooked on the Cobb Grill :) Pizza, mmmm good :) Cinnamon Rolls are another favorite Then last night we had Bacon and Blue Cheese Stuffed Sausage and Squash... We use it every day and cook everything and anything on it, from steaks, chicken & pork, to making bread, cakes, and even pizza :)
  4. We had a great time at the Lake Casitas Fiberglass RV Rally, Karen gave her Cobb Grill demonstration for everyone and made Spaghetti Squash Lasagna's for everyone and it went fast :) Then she also was the hostess for the games, Stump the Camper and the Sit Down Scavenger Hunt, the awards ceremony and then she hosted the Color & Chat with Karen again that has really gone over well with everyone :) We really love theRally's, I wish we were closer to Tennessee so that we could come to the Oliver Rally, but we're booked here out west as it is with lot's of fun times ahead :)
  5. Nice looking set up ladies :) We have a lot of the same options, luv the Truma :)
  6. Dave, personally I would stick to the original plan and just toss the parts they sent into a drawer for back up... Just make the bend with copper, slide it in, and tighten it all down. Their pex fix is good for the Elite II, but it looks like they are just sending out the parts because they were caught off guard and are scratching their heads when it comes to the Elite I... Basically they sent you parts that you really can't use in your application because they haven't been lead through that fix yet.
  7. Yup, Richie's answer doesn't cut it because the TV has nothing to do with the level ball height of the trailer because that's trailer only... Your 21" sounds perfect but I would call Oliver again and ask them for a leveled confirmation pic from them being that they have given you 2 different conflicting answers, when Terry's measured in at 22.25". The only thing that will make a difference is just how much you pack into it. Dave has has his awhile and very well could be taller unpacked. This could be where the different heights are coming in to play, because full tanks and full of water and gear with the single axle will definitely bring it down, so the actual height for you will be different just because of what and how you end up packing. I can vary a couple inches on my Elite II if I'm running with full tanks all around.
  8. Hmmm... The Zamp Solar sells for $1100 online, it would be nice to know what price Oliver has on it before installation being that it's a $2800.00 option.
  9. So Terry's new 2017 Elite is 22.25, while Dave's 2015 is 19.5... It sounds like there has been a change, it would be nice to know tire sizes for both and go from there. It could also be different springs, etc but either way it's 3" and on mine, I like to run an inch low and my ball could still be raised maybe an inch if it was needed.
  10. The Clam is nice, there's one set up here at the Rally and it is probably the best unit out there, but it does come at a higher price. I have a couple different Coleman's and I will be putting up the screen room this afternoon and I will take a picture then. If you want it for the dogs, can they be trusted to not break out the doors thru the zippers? If so, then you may want to go with a Coleman instant tent because it has a floor. Depending on our situation, I usually take the one with the floor. It has screen all the way around and a screen roof but it can still be closed up and used as a tent to keep the rain out when needed.
  11. The truck pulled Goldilocks really well and we had no problems going up over the different summits. It's a completely different feel from the Mercedes but you get what you pay for either way. There's really no comparing the 2 vehicles because they are so different, ie- diesel vs gas, Mercedes vs Chevy, car vs truck, but I was able to fit everything into the truck except my bucket of tools. Most of them I don't need everyday and this is a quick trip being that we will be back home next week, so I left them home for the first time to get the feel of all of the extra room that I filled up with the extra chairs and things for this Rally at Lake Casitas, CA. Anyway, so far so good and I love our new truck and have already been out 4wheelin in it and this is the real reason that we switched over to it. The Mercedes comes with an off-road package but it still doesn't have the clearance compared to the truck or the off-road capability. I've had to turn around a number of times in the Mercedes just because I wasn't willing to scrape the bottom over some of the boulder strewn trails that we travel, but that just comes right back to the car vs truck. The truck is more versatile when it comes to extreme off-road, it has the clearance that we need and it is going to take the place of our old 2005 Hummer as well, I hope... As far as towing goes, it's a good TV with all of the right controls built in and everything works fine. I did have to use my brakes more going downhill in the truck compared to the diesel Mercedes, but I knew that I was giving up that capability, going in :) We were out of communication for a day and now, we are at the Lake Casitas Rally, set up and ready for it to begin today. We like coming in the day before and taking our time getting set up. And today Spike and his wife stopped in, in their Legacy Elite II to say high and we will be getting together this week and talking a lot more as they get settled in for their reunion here in the same town :) Good Times Ahead Reed
  12. You don't need the macerator for the gray tank. After filling the black tank and letting it run out the first time, I leave the water flush system running and walk away for a few minutes to let it run. When clear water comes out, I fill it up to 80%+ to 95% at the most on accident... Lol, then pull the handle and let it run clean again. Then refill it again and it should run clean from start to finish, letting you know that it's perfectly clean. These 2 movies go together but had to be listed separately on this page,so there's another page now... Haha Oliver :) Reed
  13. Did you get to keep the gator? I love eating Cajon cooked alligator steaks :)
  14. Here's another pic just because :) The next day :) Did the coffee come first? Haha yes, that's why I'm awake :) We downsized from an 8 cup Chemex down to a 6 cup and then the Hario Drip Kettle for Induction burners makes it easy to put the water right where you want it in the Chemex. Karen has a process for adding the water in a circular motion down to a science, completely covering all of the grounds to get the right water flow throughout the coffee grounds. She really loves the induction burner :)
  15. Magma makes both types now that are basically identical to look at but their Magma Induction pans have an added magnetic surface that makes them work great, so if you didn't buy their Induction set... You know :) Reed
  16. Ours is the older New Wave and just like the reviews, it doesn't work on low or medium... It came that way, it comes on then shuts off. So Aunt Judy gave it to us and we found out that it does work fine on medium high (375°) and above. We can boil 2 quarts of water for the 8 cup coffee maker in about 4 minutes total. So this one works, though it is defective and doesn't work on low... Lol. Anyway after using this free one, we will be upgrading soon enough :) Reed
  17. Our Aunt had one that she couldn't figure out, so she gave it to us last month and it has now become the main burner inside Goldilocks. Karen cooks breakfast on it every morning and it works with our Magma pans and scanpan ctq. She bought pans in the beginning to use with induction and cast iron works as well. We went from using the gas to using induction only inside for many reasons, the speed, the inside temp stays the same, the gas gets used for the water heater only and that has been a big savings rolling out to filling a tank once a month. It runs fine off of the generator or the batteries but mostly this fall we've been plugged into 120vac and it works great. We may switch our gas stove out to a good induction cook top because this gas stove has some size issues and mostly for the other meals we are always using the Cobb Grill for everything from making bread and pizza to barbecuing vegetables and beef or even gator steaks and burgers. The induction cook top and the Cobb Grill really give you the best of the best in our opinion when it comes to cooking from the trailer. Reed
  18. We use our step a lot, be sure to get the adjustable legs on it because there have been places that we camped that each leg was set at a different height to level it.
  19. We didn't go with the Earth Cruiser because climbing up the steps into it wasn't safely doable for us... I would have them put your DC and USB outlets behind a weather proof cover, those little caps, I can't see lasting or being used outside in the first place. There's no way that I can trust those cheap plastic covers to seal out the rain after seeing them tear off so easily in person inside. They should have used the duplex USB & 12vdc outlet and covered it like the standard 120vac outlet mounted below. https://www.amazon.com/MOUNT-12V-VPA-SOCKET-CHARGING-STATION/dp/B00SVVQHKW
  20. We ordered the roll out tonneau cover because I'm going to try putting the Yamaha Grizzly 600 in the back, but we'll probably have to buy a smaller newer quad. I haven't checked that idea out enough yet but winter isn't quite here yet either and we will be back here in a couple of weeks. Man... plans sure can change quickly, we haven't even gone south to the Rally and now we're planning on going back north to Oregon after the Rally to visit family. Tomorrow I've got to shut off the water and winterize the house, then Saturday morning, we are heading down south to see the grand kids and then hopefully continue down to the Rally that starts Thursday at Lake Casitas County Park. You'll never guess what kind of Rally it is... Lol... :) Reed
  21. I can't really tell from the picture but it looks like your awning arm is connected to the trailer and then you staked the tie down rope straight down from the corners right? Or are the arms staked down too? Looks beautiful :)
  22. It says and we were told 23.5 but 22.5 is where I like mine because it's almost level and this way when we stop for the night, I don't need to unhook. It can go either way, 23.5 is a touch up, 22.5 is a touch down. I can drop my jacks and easily level for a quick night sleep when traveling. Reed
