AF80KF13 Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Just started using the shower and the pan/floor sounds like it is cracking when stepped on. Is this normal? 1
Moderators Mike and Carol Posted January 1, 2019 Moderators Posted January 1, 2019 Without listening I think it is probably normal. There is a little flexing to the floor with some associated noise. Mike Texas Hill Country | 2016 Elite II #135 | 2020 Ram 2500 6.7L
John E Davies Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Ours is completly silent. I weigh 165, if you are heavier I think it could maybe creak a little, but popping or cracking noises would be a worry. That sounds like a break in the material. I think you should check with the factory on this one.... are there any physical signs, such as small cracks? Moderator+ ScubaRx Posted January 1, 2019 Moderator+ Posted January 1, 2019 I doubt there’s a problem. A piece of fiberglass will squeak when flexed or moved while in contact with another piece. The shower pan is a separate piece fiberglass and is in contact with the interior hull. In addition, if there is any grit under the pan it may create a noise when stepped on. The shower pan on our first Oliver cracked and I replaced it. The pan in the newer models are about 5 times thicker. MFiato Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 We had the same problem when we picked up our trailer in june.Jason removed shower pan and discovered that the foam on back was cut on angles with the center being the highest. He got a new pan from mfg side and installed it.Took about 4 hrs but it resolved the issue 1
geokeg Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 We have hull number 178 and it has been in use for over 2 years. Our shower floor has never made any noise or felt anything but solid when being stood or stepped on. 1 George and Gretchen Gig Harbor, Wa. Hull Number 178
AF80KF13 Posted January 30, 2019 Author Posted January 30, 2019 Thanks All for the replies and appreciate the direction. We have an appointment at the factory for a number of fixes including the shower floor.
