Rodney
We are traveling. Just pulled into a walMart. We have solar. All power working except for our electrical outlets. The video says there is an outlet under the dinette with a reset. We do not have one. Any help?
Overland
What year/model/hull number do you have? There should be a regular GFCI outlet at the front dinette seat - it would be unusual if you didn’t have one. Assuming since you’re at a Walmart that you aren’t plugged in, and that you’ve turned on your inverter and it’s operating, the usual cause for power loss is that the outlet has been tripped. If it isn’t that, check the electrical panel to make sure that no breakers have been tripped. Edited September 2, 2020 by Overland
Dean
You are looking for an outlet that looks like this
Mainiac
Are you looking at the outlet on the front of the dinette? The side towards the front? Not inside, or under, it? Have you turned the inverter on? What you may be looking for is a GFI on the inverter. Usually the cord is unplugged from the inverter to easier see the reset. Reset and then plug back in. John E Davies
Since you are there, go into Walmart and buy a 120 volt outlet tester specific for GFCI testing. Once you get power back, you can check all the outlets for correct wiring and ALSO test the GFCI one to make sure it is not defective. It is common for them to go bad, if so just replace it with a new one. Any GFCI tester is fine, it should look similar to this one with the Test button: Does your inverter power on properly? Does the green light at the wall switch come on? I’m sorry we are all asking this question, but some folks might not know it is necessary.... it doesn’t come on by itself. Rodney
This is the outlet in front of the dinnette. No reset
John E Davies
There should be another one under the table, facing toward the back of the trailer, squat down and look there. We need to know your model and hull number. Overland
Since that outlet is in an unusual location, it's probably safe to assume that this is an older trailer; in which case the outlet could have been swapped out by a previous owner with a non-GFCI model, or perhaps one wasn't installed at the factory. Like Maniac suggested, check the outlet on the inverter itself, make sure the battery leads to the inverter are attached, etc. Also, just as an FYI, titling your topic with something relevant to the problem will get you more suggestions, and would also help others in the future when they're searching for solutions to their own problems. You can change it by editing your original post. Edited September 2, 2020 by Overland
RnA
From past posts, it looks like you may have bought 183? If so, it should have the Xantrex inverter. Some of this has already been suggested but I've added some photos. These come from 365 but it should be close to what you have. Your issue may be as simple as put the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. Don't worry, we've all done it. If it's that, then hopefully these trouble shooting tips will help someone else. If it's more than that, here are some additional things to look at. 1.) Check that the inverter is turned on at remote (green light in "Inverter Power Control Close-up_ON" photo). If the green light will not turn on, proceed to step 3. 2.) Check the power indicator at the bottom/back of the inverter. The indicator should be green and the red led should cycle to show voltage in (see photo "Inverter Control and Power Display"). If power comes on, proceed to step 4. 3.) Turn on inverter at inverter by pressing the green power button next to the LED display (noted above). - If power comes on, re-seat the "phone" cable just above the LED display. This is the cable to the remote power switch in step 1. Proceed to step 2. - If inverter did not turn on, it may have failed or is not getting power. Proceed to step 5. 4.) Check the GFCI outlet on the back of the inverter located under the port side bed (twin models) or port aft dinette seat (standard models). Check that the GFCI is not tripped. (See photos "Inverter Power Outlet_GFCI"). Check power at the outlet by plugging something in. (See "Inverter Power Check") If power is good at the inverter, make sure the 120 volt plug is fully seated and re-seat the plug at the inverter as it feeds other outlets in the trailer. 5.) If you can measure voltage, check for 12 vdc at the inverter. If voltage is good, I would suspect the inverter. If no voltage, trace back to batteries. This will include the large ANC fuse under the forward side dinette (see photo "ANC Inverter Fuse). Be care, these cable can draw a lot of power (see photo "ANC Inverter Fuse" top of photo, fuse block connected to large red cables). Check positive voltage both sides of fuse. Let us know how you make out. For the moderators, maybe a section on trouble shooting tips? - Randy Edited September 6, 2020 by RnA Deleted duplicate photo.
