Wandering Sagebrush
Any recommendations for a hitch lock to use on the Bulldog hitch? I see collar style, but I’m curious if there is anything else that is more effective. Hull #364 - The Roadrunner 2014 F350 CCLB SRW 6.
Frank C
Are you looking to secure the hitch while traveling or while parked? The collar style works for both situations. The big heavy Proven Industries lock only works when parked. I have both 🙂. The Proven lock can double as a boat anchor. https://www.provenlocks.com/products/model-2178-b 3 1 2 2019 Oliver Legacy Elite II - Hull #461 Tow Vehicle: 2019 Ford F-250 SuperCab 4x4, 6.2L Flex-Fuel engine
Wandering Sagebrush
Frank, that is exactly the type hitch vault I was looking for, thank you! When the TV is connected, I’m not too concerned, but it gives me nervous twitch to leave a disconnected trailer when boondocking. We use the Megahitch vault on the Airstream. 1 Hull #364 - The Roadrunner 2014 F350 CCLB SRW 6.
Steph and Dud B
We use a Fort Knox hitch lock. Not as pretty as a Proven Industries but just as tough and a little less expensive. Bulldog Sliding Collar Coupler Lock Includes Cobra-Sidewinder puck lock- BOLT CUTTER PROOF!!! https://a.co/d/gkBIplM I also loop a large padlock through the two safety chains and attach them to the front basket so the trailer can't be dragged by the chains. 6 Stephanie and Dudley from CT. 2022 LE2, Hull #1150: Eggcelsior. Moderators SeaDawg Posted June 2 Moderators Share Posted June 2 We've used a bulldog collar, towing or not, plus a ball type lock while camped, for 16 seasons. More locks to defeat, more time needed for the jerk... Some people also deploy locks or chains on wheels. We don't. 5 2008 Ram 1500 4 × 4 2008 Oliver Elite, Hull #12 Florida and Western North Carolina, or wherever the truck goes.... 400 watts solar. Dc compressor fridge.
