  1. I installed disk brakes on our Oliver over a year ago. It is some work but not beyond doing for someone that has tools and the inclination. So as to not hijack this thread you can read about that venture here. http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/mods-of-the-outlaw-oliver/page/3/?wall_post=34117 Follow up on performance after about 25K Miles. No issues whatsoever. Disks are still perfectly smooth x 4. No fluid loss anywhere.

  2. This is BLM land, no facilities, with a rough, steep dirt road leading to dispersed sites on two small Channelled Scabland lakes. Twin Lakes Recreation Area is between Odessa and Harrington WA,in the very middle of the state. https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2017/03/channeled-scablands/ When you are alone and the bugs are out, you have lots of time to mess around with a camera, making time lapse videos: [attachment file=133808] John Davies Spokane WA

  3. We have been on the road now for 75+ days. Some of the roads we have traveled have been less then smooth.(Dirt,Gravel, BLM) While in Grand Junction CO, I was filling the propane tanks at Tractor Supply. I noticed both connections on the hoses at the tanks to the regulator had developed leaks. Holy s--t batman! Luckily, T.S. had Mr. Heater replacements. Replaced and rechecked for leaks, O.K. so far so good. Our hull #104 2015, Please remember to do a leak test on your hose fittings.

  4. I raised all four wheels up and checked the star wheel adjustments by lifting the automatic arm with a thin screwdriver. Silly me, I assumed the brakes were set right because they are Nev-R-Adjust, right? Left front 23 clicks until brake bound up. LR 21 clicks RF 14 clicks RR 42 clicks (!) I backed them all off to 8. I have to admit that I was very startled that they were so loose, and that they were all so different. I had them apart about 1000 miles ago to correct leaky seals, and everything looked great otherwise, and the auto adjust stuff looked fine. Why they have not self adjusted, I cannot understand. Oh wait! “Never Adjust”, they are named correctly! I will keep an eye on them, the LF is still grabby and locks prematurely, so when I go into them I may just eliminate the cables. I will check to see if the brakes are postioned correctly on the axles (left and right). Disk brakes are in my future, when money allows. John Davies Spokane WA

  5. To be clear, I love music, of many genre's, and I also equally enjoy the solitude of just being out "there". I usually get my fix through ear buds, or something similar, and usually when I am exercising. I don't consider sharing a tidbit of my musical tastes as condoning any type of noise pollution. I often find the constant cacophony of noise in the common campsite/rv park overwhelming and a nuisance. Big rigs, kids, generators, the constant back and forth of vehicles are all distracting. And that my friends is why "we" have invested in an Oliver - it gives us what we want in comfort, with an ability to go where the noise makers usually don't. However, to be honest, I do enjoy, at times, some of my selections at very high levels, blasting forth from my barn/garage. Yea, I love old vintage equipment, big amps, great sound! Now, I am out there, in my own little rural world, wildlife haven't complained yet (more distracted by the dog!), and the neighbors are to distant. To each his own - silence can be enjoyable - the following is cool.

  7. My name is George Adam.My wife Joanie and I are considering the purchase of a Legacy II to replace our Airstream. Earlier this week we visited with John Davies to view his 'Mouse'. We were very impressed with both it and John's tour. Thanks again, John. I will likely post some questions shortly to get all of your views based on your experiences with your Ollies. Thanks in advance. George
