Thank you everyone. Perfect timing. We just arrived at Custer SP & were wondering the same thing. I think we're ready.

We picked up Hull #306 April of last year. Since then we've put about 5K miles on the trailer, including a recent trip to Yellowstone and The Grand Tetons; and we absolutely love it. We previously had a Casita 17 Deluxe. The Oliver LEII is everything we wished for in the Casita and more. We've been part of the fiberglass community for some time and were accustomed to the curiosity people have for these trailers. However, we never get tired of the universal “wow” people express when they step inside an Oliver. I want to give a special shout out to “Jam49” who left a kind note on our windshield in Blanco, Tx. They spotted our trailer parked in the square. Made the block and left a note just to say hi to a follow “Oliverian”. And the woman with the pink Boler, who waved at us from the service road, somewhere in Colorado as we sped by. What can I say; fiberglass people share a kindred spirit. I don’t post much, but have benefited from this forum for the past year. Thank you to those who share their experiences here. Judy and I live in Fair Oaks Ranch, Tx (yes there are at least two Olivers here) which is just North of San Antonio. We’re looking forward to the miles ahead.

If you have a decent air compressor you could do a partial winterization..... blow out all four of the exterior lines and also the outside shower head at 60 psi max. You can get a garden hose adaptor fitting at any hardware store. That takes care of the stuff that would be the first to freeze. Keep the cabin heated and the water heater on and you will be fine, even without doing this. It kinda depends on where you are. I never winterize even though we typically have a week or so where the lows are mid-20s at night. I just turn on a space heater and open the access between the hulls. We like to camp year round so as soon as I would winterize we’d be looking to leave! If the temps are going to be around freezing for a few days I wouldn’t worry about it. If it will be colder longer, then you might consider it. Mike

Here is an interesting contrast to the Oliver factory, which takes a couple of months to turn out a trailer. NL is considered to be at the very top of the mass produced truck campers in terms of features, quality and four season capability. OTH they churn these out in two DAYS, which I believe is considered slow in conventional RV manufacturing. They mate the top and bottom molded hull parts in the “marriage chapel” and then wheel it into the main area where all the parts with the exception of the bathroom are installed. The bath is too big, it is laid down inside the lower half before the mating occurs. All the other interior parts are carried in through the rear door in pieces and assembled inside. In contrast, the new Cirrus campers are put together in the opposite manner. The floor and interior is assembled with free and easy access to all the future hidden areas, then the roof and sides are wheeled in and screwed to the interior. The construction is aluminum framing, foam insulation and fiberglass panels. The interior cabinets are man-made materials. All this is good, but then they mess it up by installing wood strips inside the framing, “to give the screws something to bite into”.... and something to rot. I hope this was interesting. Oliver does not do it to perfection, but they do it lots LOTS better than the other guys.... While I currently don’t own an Ollie, I’ve visited the plant and sales office in September of this year. Hope to place an order 1/2020. I’ve, like many, have done an exhaustive review and comparison of travel trailers, Motorhomes, etc., including their respective mechanical systems. Leave it to the Europeans to out-engineer the U.S. manufacturers (predominantly in Indiana where design and decor are STUCK in the ‘80’s) with sustainability and efficiency being their guiding design impetus. All that being said, to address your specific citing of the Alde heating system which uses glycol as the “medium” transferring heat via finned radiators pumped via plastic supply lines is a great system. However, since the Oliver is equipped with a propane gas ducted forced air heating system the logical conversion would be a Truma Combi System which is a propane gas tankless hot water heater and a gas ducked forced air heating system. Using the existing duct system would be the most efficient conversion rather than attempting to re-plumb supply lines and place finned radiators in the trailer hull. I hope Oliver considers the Truma Combi System as an upgrade since the Truma Tankless Water Heater is already an option... Just my thoughts and observations. Forrest
