Well, I just ordered (2) Zamp 90 watt panels. @Overland, what do you think about mounting them at an angle instead of flat. How did you do your drivers side? Do you think the awning on passenger side would cause any shadowing if mounted at an angle?

This size seems like it would fit on both sides up top. The feet are even made for curved roofs. There is even an extra plug-in on the factory roof install for the solar panels. It would be super easy if you could get an SEA splitter cable and just plug them in, then you would just have to mount the feet. Just wondering if anyone has done anything like this. The whole parallel vs series and panel compatibility is beyond my expertise. It is the 6 in dial version and it has a brass screw lock on the left side.. the whole front swings out to reveal a small German made quartz movement (AA battery). Made in USA otherwise. Does not tick. Me too... the original is a metal wind-up, super nice but very heavy and expensive. This one fits and works nice for this application. The back is perfectly flat, so it is an easy install with some VHB tape. @John, after some use I realized it does have a mild tick noise.

What I like about the RVH2O 105 degree quick connect is that it makes an almost 90 degree down spout for the city and fresh water connections. They also sell a 90 degree for the winterization/fresh water and black tank flush connectors that are at right angles. But you better hurry if you want the 105’s because RVH2O has d/c’d them and the RV water filter store website is the only one that still has some that I know of. Also, the whole idea about quick connects in my opinion is to leave them on so I can quick connect and disconnect my hoses upon arrival, etc. I mean between the water pressure regulator, the water filter, the water splitter, the 10 hose, the 5 ft hose, and the dirty hose.... that’s a lot of connections to whittle down. @John, I did see your post before it vanished. I agree on terrible resolution. I think I heard someone say that the resolution is limited due to the RCA cable. It would be really nice if there was something with a better picture. I have used the Arlo camera with a suction cup on the back and the picture is great but the lag at times is annoying.

So after just over a year the TT was past due for a polish/wax job, especially after our first summer trip to Ft. Pickens. The little trees there offer some shade but the leaves leach quite a bit leaving a large amount of stains on top. I purchased the cordless milwaukee 7 in rotary polisher and its little 3 in brother and was pretty impressed by ease of use vs corded and battery life. You can get it as a kit (2 batteries and pads) if you don’t already have some of their proprietary batteries. The (2) 5 Amp/hr batteries finished the 2 step job easily with one additional charge. I used Meguiar’s polishing/cleaning compound and yellow pad and then their marine wax with black pad... beautiful better than new shine. The smaller polisher was great at doing the frame around the windows removing the black streaks from the above light gaskets (what a pain dealing with that every time I wash). Next time, I plan of using Meguiar’s 2:1 cleaner wax to whittle down the process to 1 step. Thanks John, It is a very nice install. I am not near as handy with electrical and I was thinking about upgrading as tech changes and did want to keep it as simple and with as few holes as possible. Thought I would tap in to power and temporarily install in the rear and see how well the transmitter is picked up by the Garmin device. I love the idea of your install but again just nervous about the permanence of the install... and ease of installation. I definitely want the constant current vs. hooking up to reverse lighting. Still not sure about the switch power. But really like the idea of keeping everything in the rear if the transmission is seamless. Also, the clip it comes with would attach to tag place with ease. Simple it must be or I must get more confidence and a better plan. Garmin device is backordered until the end of this month so I have some time to think it over. Maybe I will just order the placard, switch and wiring from OTT and do the install like yours but I will have to really think about it. I am looking to install Garmin Backup camera and trying to decide how and where to put. My question is do you need a power switch if you splice into the power line for the tag light since the camera would only be powered up when Ollie is plugged into TV. Then I could just attach the camera to the tag plate and if the signal is adequate... done. Thanks in advance for any input. Mike

The mod is super easy and no more hauling or managing gasoline. The (2) 30 lb propane tanks up front provide days of continuous cooling easily. Runs quieter. The only time I move it out of the basket is to fill/change oil. The highest I have had it is 9,000 feet... runs fine. You can still use gasoline and run normally if you really want/need to without having to remove anything. Not sure about a smaller regulator.

I installed a 1x1/8 in. aluminum rail that connects to the frame (inside) on both sides and mounted the regulator to it. Very stable.

Love Victron Energy stuff. Looking to just add the battery monitor with built-in bluetooth... any chance you fished any tape between the hulls to run communication wire for battery monitor -- feeding up to where the old Zamp controller was originally. I think it will work to try and just follow the solar cables up from the bottom basement. One day I would love to have the whole Victron setup, more solar panels, Lithiums, etc. Thanks for the post. The Viking has respectable specs for its size but the couple I tried in the same category were not sufficient when I needed them (large v-8 truck). I have not needed the charger aspect but it is a nice option to have IMO and the jumper is rated for 800 CCA. It was a great find at the time (about a year ago) when I came across it and I still haven’t seen anything else with the same specs that actuallly seem to match in real world use. But I guess that since you have used the one you have a few times and it performed well, I would stick with it. I do agree, it is a bit pricy.

It is very easy to set-up and take down. The 16 ft pole is fiberglass and breaks down into 4 pieces.

I agree with you. The only drawback left is not being able to access nightstand drawer without removing it. If I could find an alternate mounting location and a good secure stowing mount for table while in tow I would be pleased.
