are there other recommendations from others for a small,  inexpensive device to check poles?

    Thanks

    David

I carry a multi meter for all types of troubleshooting.  These 3 items are my go to tools for testing any new power pole we connect to which may have 15A, 30A or 50A service.

  2. What type of power outlets does your pole offer?  I assume you are plugged into a 30 amp outlet.  Do you have any adapters for your 30 amp power cord that would allow you to connect to a 15 amp or a 50 amp outlet?  If so, try your portable surge protector in those outlets.  Can you verify any nearby outlets that are correctly wired?  Did you just arrive at this location?  Was everything working at the last location?  Can you move to a different spot in the campground?  I know that’s a lot of questions, I’m just trying to qualify your issue.  In other words, is it an Ollie problem or is it the power pole you are connected to?

For those of you whose trailers have a refrigerator fan, where is the fan switch located? My 2021 LE2 doesn't have a fan switch that I have noticed. If Oliver stopped installing a refrigerator fan after the 2017 models, does anyone know why?

My fan switch is located on the main switch panel just inside the door.  I don’t know why they stopped, but I do know they are located differently in some trailers.  You can always add your own as some others have done.

Darn search feature just doesn’t work.

Try Rivernerd’s Google search "Oliver converter inverter" above and then try "site:olivertraveltrailers.com forum converter inverter", with forum converter inverter being the search words you are looking for at olivertraveltrailers.com.  Then compare the results.  There is an old saying about computers "garbage in, garbage out" which means that the computer will give you just what you ask for.  And a ‘thank you’ goes out to DavidS, who shared the specific site:Oliver travel trailers.com a few years back.

  5. Yes it does need to be raised enough to remove the screws that the cups are attached with.  You can see the screws in Steve’s picture.  I flipped mine over on its back while it was still on the roof.  That made it a little easier to remove the old gasket and sealant.  But before removing or raising the AC, you should remove the plastic evaporator cover under the foam insulation.  That will allow you troubleshoot a little further.  It is attached with press in tabs around the perimeter and a few screws.  I was then able to use a measuring cup to put water into the drain channels to pinpoint the leak.

We have the older style Dometic AC, and the tubes or cups that drain condensation away seem to be clogged. Water drips from the AC when running. How do I clean out the tubes, and I think that there are cups on the roof that also need cleaning? Thanks in advance.
    David

I noticed AC condensate water dripping off the rear curb side roof at a COE campground along the Arkansas River and chalked it up the the high humidity we were experiencing.  The next day we were at Choctaw Lake in Mississippi and the water started running off over the curb side window.  After experimenting with leveling the trailer, I found that when the curb side was low, the water ran off that side.  I could move the runoff water to the rear by raising the nose.  And best of all , I could stop all roof runoff by raising the curb side and all of the water drained from condensate drain tube.  We did some troubleshooting at home and found that water would leak from the curb side condensate drain cup whenever the curb side was low.  I finally found a posting on the Airstream forum about installing the drain pan kit.  I ordered the kit and an extra foam gasket.  I completed the drain kit installation when I gained access to a shop and could take my time removing the AC and find out the source of the leak, which was a broken nipple on the curb side drain cup.

I don’t know if this will have any bearing on your issue, but I know my troubleshooting took me in a different direction than I was heading in at the very start.

  7. If there are campers lined up behind us at the dump station, instead of rinsing the black tank, we just dump a bucket of water into the toilet with our normal mix of a cap full of Calgon water softener and a cap full of Dawn dish soap and do a complete black tank rinse at the next opportunity.  If I am patient while waiting in line, I expect the same from those behind us.  It also gives us a chance to start our dump procedure.  I do try to check out the dump site while I coming into the campground so I have an idea of what to expect when my turn comes.  I have even gone into a dump from the wrong direction when the slope of the drive would leave me tail high and it was beyond the reach of the front jack.  Most RV’s dump from the middle, so the slope may not be a challenge for them.  The main thing to remember is go slow and think it through.

Are you assuming travel with all tanks full?  Wouldn’t most just have full fresh or full grey/black?

We generally hit leave the house with 15 gallons of fresh water, 1/2 gallon of black and grey is empty.  But we also carry at least 5 gallons of drinking water split between the Ollie and the tow vehicle.

Does the 1/2" Allen wrench need to be a typical "L" shape?

5/16" bolts have a 1/2" head.  Put a couple of nuts on the threaded end, using 1 as a stop nut for the 2nd one and use an open end wrench.

Is your Honda the EU2000 or their larger EU2200?

I have a 2004 EU2000i  I am not sure if the EU2200i would fit or not.  My generator has to be sitting in the correct position so that the handle fits between the ribs of the inside top which run length wise.  The pictures usually show the the outside of the top and those ribs run width wise.  And I would say the price below is better than what I saw on Amazon.

However, more than likely the vendors will be in the usual location (I can't remember what that is called) and if that is the case then Oliver has already arranged with the State Park for use of the "shelters" in that area.

That would be the Buckeye Pavilion, (from someone who does remember).

I am one of a number of Oliver Owner's that are  using this Rubbermaid container in the front basket. It has gone through many rain storms without taking in any water. It is a Rubbermaid Action Packer 24 gallon container and I bought it on Amazon.

I use the same Rubbermaid container to carry my Honda generator in the back of our SUV.  I have never used it in the front basket because I don’t carry anything of value there.  I have never tested it in the rain, but it does keep the gasoline fumes contained.  You could always put some silicone or rubber edge trim around the top lip of the tub to create a gasket.

he seals seem to have shrunk more to the point where I am replacing them with the Pellandent H109-376 seals.

Make sure you order a little extra.  Then you can add a little piece if they shorten up.  I have added pieces to the top of the windows to fill the small gaps.  I never figured out if I cut them short or if they shrunk on their own, but I do usually blame myself.  After all, I touched it last.

Does anyone have a light-weight option they'd recommend?

We added new singles from Southern Mattress in North Carolina when we converted from a standard to twin bed arrangement.  They are very light and easy to lift or move.  We find the comfort level to very good, although comfort is very subjective.

I would suggest locating a mattress manufacturer in your area and discuss their bedding options.  It would make it easier to try before buying.
