  1. Thanks for the replies. Next time I go out to my storage place I will investigate further.
  2. Hi All, My backup camera stopped working and the head unit cannot connect wirelessly even if it is within inches of the camera. Of course the power is on to the camera. My question is has anyone had this problem and how do i check if power is getting to the camera. Also, on my 2018 Hull #381 there doesn't seem to be a 12v fuse labled backup camera and the schematic doesn't show which one it would be. I just thought I would ask here before tearing into everything. Thanks
  3. The little drain hole on the exterior of the fan is the perfect size for the mud daubers. I am going to glue a little piece of screen over that now.
  4. Thanks Mike the problem was the thermal fuse.
  5. Thanks Mike I will check this before I order a new motor
  6. Mud daubers built a nest freezing the fan and burnt out the motor the next time I tried the fan and left it on accidentally. I found the fuse in the attic.
  7. My vent line bath exhaust fan is dead on my 2018 elite 2. Now in troubleshooting mode. I can not find a fuse labeled for the fan. Next is to check power to the unit. All that is left is a bad switch and motor. Am I forgetting something?
  8. A remote surge protector might seem like a belt and suspenders option but you can check on the pedestal before backing in.
  9. I would recommend Becoming Steve Jobs. A Oliver owners we can appreciate "sweating the details" leading to a great product. In the book it was a revelation to Apple that given the choice, people do discern and value quality more than they are usualy given credit for. Now to get the public to pay for that quality is the story for the marketing department to tell.
  10. Our #381 was picked up September 2018 and is at 40,000. Now that we live by our son, he has decided to add more miles to the Oliver with his family.
  11. We sanitize the fresh water tank with a half cup of bleach and it takes two full drains to get rid of the bleach taste. We take the water from the fresh water tank and run it through our Berkey Filter before using it for cooking etc.
  12. Watching people back in to a campsite is pure entertainment. I am impatient when in line for gas at Costco. People get out of their cars and stare at the pump like they never saw one before and it gets worse from there. Oh well, get out the phone and try to get to the end of the internet.
  13. While Battle Born batteries are very popular in the RV industry, Olivers choice of Lithionics brand peaked my interest. This video may explain the price of the option.
  14. I'll start this off with a video on how to get your F450 stuck when pulling your toyhauler 5th wheel in deep sand. There is a country song with the lyrics " The more boys I meet the more I love my Dog". Well the more toyhauler videos I watch the more I love my Oliver
  15. 90 Degree coupler https://smile.amazon.com/LockNLube-Degree-Grease-Coupler-Adapter/dp/B07STDDN1S/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1PP47DJBKR4DU&dchild=1&keywords=locknlube+90+degree+grease+coupler+adapter&qid=1620267138&sprefix=locknlube+90%2Caps%2C191&sr=8-5
  16. This might be over kill for a tarp but for large canvas tents on super hard ground they recommend 6 or 8 inch lag bolts and use a drill. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-2-in-x-6-in-Hex-Galvanized-Lag-Screw-803996/204647865
  17. The first time doing any job is usually a learning experience as simple as it might seem. Well the first thing I learned is that the grease gun is not like a caulking gun. The plunger needs to be pushed all the way in. Mine would not go in and back to you tube for the answer which was to wiggle it a little with the cylinder unscrewed a bit. Next, the LocknLube came with a great tip which locked on the zerk allowing up to 10,000 psi of force. Unfortunately, I could only reach one zerk because the tip was so long the tires were in the way of the rest. Since I was doing this at the storage lot not close to any autoparts store I proceeded to remove the wheels and finish the job. When I got home I ordered a 90 degree tip from Amazon. The suspension creaking that alerted me to the problem was solved.
  18. I have just noticed some suspension creaking noise. My last suspension was at Oliver last September and have certainly traveled over 3000 miles since then so it is time to buy a grease gun and figure out what to do. You Tube to the rescue.
  19. Talk to a marina manager. You could rent a boat slip and then be able to have a parking space to park the Oliver
  20. I bought a backrest for my motorcycle. In the box there was a paper that stated the backrest was for static display only and not to be used to lean against. I guess that is one way to try and avoid legal problems. At least I didn't have to sign a legal release before bolting it on.
  21. I ran across a You Tube video with the above subject and gave it a watch. It was interesting to compare buying an Oliver to the "mainstream RV buyer possible concerns about purchasing in 2021. They were listed as very little inventory to choose from, very little discount on the ones available, not getting the exact model or options you want, build quality during covid, and finally when everyone who purchased an RV in 2020 decides it was a poor decision and wants to sell the market for used trailers will tank. One, well as most of us know, there is no inventory to choose from and all Olivers are optioned out just for you. Two, very little discount ha ha how about no discount. The discount went away with the thought of a dealer network. Third, I'm sure covid was a challenge to Oliver as well but I doubt it affected quality. Finnaly, Olivers like many fiberglass trailers hold their values well and unlike the stick and staple units out there there really is value in an Oliver. Enjoy
  22. Also remember that with the Andersen Weight distributing hitch installed and adjusted, some of the tongue weight is distributed to the Oliver as well. A visit to a CAT scale would be in order to dial in your tire pressure.
  23. You didn't mention if you have solar and the big AGM battery bank with the inverter. With that a generator is usually only needed for the A/C. Everything else should run on Propane, 12 volt and inverter. That has been our experience.
  24. Our 2018 Elite 2 has the same A/C with an easy start and my Honda 2200 EU runs the A/C fine, just don't try to run the microwave or the fridge on auto at the same time. FYI Champion dual fuel generators have a lower wattage output running on propane. We follow the travel route of 70 degrees and sunny so we have traveled 5 months at a time maybe using the generator once or twice.
  25. Our Ollie is our third RV in 34 years and we had the vehicle to tow it. We love the flexibility to set up camp and go out exploring. If we were just starting out with no tow vehicle I would purchase one of the Cruise America class C rental units. They were well maintained and built with heavy duty interiors for the rental market. They typically have 140K miles and are 4 years old and sell in the low $30's. You could buy one and take a spin around the country and probably not loose too much if you decided the road was not for you. Good Luck
