  1. We use the Anderson levelers. They come with rubber mats (anti-slip) but we have seldom used them. Love the levelers.
  2. I have a 2015 Ecodiesel (3.0 liter) with the 8 speed tranny. Get up to 28 mpg on long haul highway without towing and about 16 when towing the Oliver. I use tow/haul mode. Just had the engine and tranny software re-flashed for the ecodiesel settlement and think I may have dropped a mpg when towing. Ecodiesels are fairly rare compared to the hemis, but it does pull the Oliver beautifully.
  3. Part of the issue with the black tank valve is the geometry of the cable as it enters the gate. The valve manufacturer, Valterra, shows on their schematic a minimum of a 6in. straight approach to the frame. Ours (and I suspect all) does not have that. I sprayed silicone lube into the gate (don’t know how much actually got the the gate mating surfaces) and manually worked the gate up and down with the exposed cable at the gate and that seemed to do the trick. Previously the gate did not fully seat - about 1/4 inch shy. I think as others have pointed out, the lubricating the entire cable length is the way to go. There is a lot of skin friction on that length of cable especially with all the loop d loops it does.
  4. Plus there is little hydraulic head on the tank the tank is pretty flat and the outlet (at least on ours) is not on the invert of the tank but on the side at the bottom. As you noted, raising the nose helps, and at least for ours is necessary to completely drain the tank. It is quite slow to drain.
  5. I think the supplied one is camco? Anyway the presets only regulate pressure if the pressure is above the preset value by 5 psi or so. Then I suspect a spring/diaphragm kicks in to “burn up” the excess pressure. I think the one we have is 40 or 50psi and I find that works fine. Not after higher flow rates in a camping situation vs. a house where I adjust the pilot screw to allow for higher pressure.
  6. Dave, Looks like you have everything figured out. We have a Roku stick and plan to use it in our Ollie. Plan to eventually get the A/B switch for dual hdmi input. Don’t know if this has been mentioned but our 2018 model has composite audio output to the furrion stereo so hdmi is only wired for DVD out from the furrion stereo to the furrion tv. I am planning on putting the A/B switch in the attic and think the TV communication from the Roku remote works via infrared (to power on/off TV) and the stick via RF shouldn’t need an IR receiving eye for the stick if hidden in the attic. correction. Actually Roku sticks should have the enhanced remote and those are supposed to communicate over a common wireless network. We really like the private listening mode that is a feature of the phone remote app. Allows use of headphones and stops ambient audio from tv.
  7. Discus277 Have you taken the actual measurement of the pickup you are considering? The reason I ask is that using specs, I did not think ours would fit in our garage (lengthwise) but it did - just barely and need the tennis ball setup. Our RAM 1500 is 77.5 in. Tall to top of satellite radio shark fin. I think I ducked first time moving it into the garage but had several inches clearance.
  8. I have the 2018 RAM ecodiesel and love it. I believe I have the same axle ratio as you quote. It tows the Ollie beautifully and I love the low end torque. We got around 17 mpg over the Appalachians although I only formally checked 1 fill up. Got nearly 28 mpg highway on way to Hohenwald. We have the integrated towing package which is nice for the brake trailer display and setting. Weird that yours is not at least wired for electric brakes. The tow package (the tow setting) is nice for the downshifting and braking. Yes there is some added expense with DEF but refeills come only after about 10,000 miles which is the oil change interval. Will likely get my DEF from autozone, but I think you can get it a truck stops at the pump which would most likely be cheaper.
  9. Hi Sherry, We have 120 VAC 15 amp I believe service at the storage facility so I think i’ll Just leave her plugged in as a lot of folks have mentioned. Thought about adding a battery cutoff switch to the negative leads but kind of hate adding components. I had disconnected the negative leads into trailer but those are a bit of a pain to reconnect with the heavy gage cables and relatively short terminal stud at the battery. I guess I have problems with the Keep it Simple Stupid rule :-). We are enjoying our Ollie! Thanks, Garry
  10. The DC cutoff switch does not isolate power from the CO/gas detector at least on our 2018 Elite II. I am pretty sure this is for safety purposes/ code. It seems to isolate all other DC uses though. The Atwood sensor unit on ours shows a typical current drain of 70 milliamps so about 50 amp-hours per month. Another forum talks about a 1 amp inline fuse for the CO/gas sensor. Garry
