The Oliver II, and yes I considered the sizeable increase in Ah capacity. Just trying to "get it right" for us. Don't want to have to rewire if we do get the AGMs and later change to lithiums.

Hi SeaDawg, I have one 100ah AGM with a portable 100w Renogy that I added last summer to our Casita. It did keep up, barely, with our day to day operations, with me chasing the sun. We used the maxair fan, 3 way fridge on propane, and the occasional water pump (by far using the most power), and led lights. If I start out with AGMs do I need to rewire for lithiums if I change over in the future? Thanks, John

Not at all, routlaw! We are full timers and don't have much of a clue how the Oliver will open boondocking opportunities. I welcome the 4 season advantages and want to maximize off grid times, if we even go that route. Thanks for your help 🙂 ........we stayed over for all of July last year at a private park in Garrison, MT and were planning to be there this July but for family health issues. 50 degree temperature swings seem to be very common for that part of the state in the summer. John

I'm wondering if anyone who decided on the lithium package wish they had opted for the AGM package instead? I like the idea of running lithiums into the ground, so to speak, down to 15%, vs worrying about crossing the 50% plateau on the AGMs, but I just don't know what my boondocking future has in store for me. Have to make a decision by mid September. Leaning towards lithium at this point. Thanks for any insight 🙂 John

We're full timing in our 2018 Casita and are awaiting our Oliver pickup in Jan 2022. Our Casita turns 4 next month and the replacement board for our Suburban heater is working fine. The original failed on our trip home from the factory. I too wanted nothing to do with Camping World as I was not going to leave the Casita with them for an indeterminate period of time. The lone "mobile" repair person charged a non refundable fee of $100 so I ordered a board from a friend, now retired, who has extensive and reputable experience in all matters relating to Casita trailers. $50 later, and after installing myself, we were back in business. My visit to the Oliver showroom was a couple of months ago and I was indeed distracted by the x3000 fan noise. The staff had used the ollie over the weekend for an office/workspace and the batteries were run down quite a bit. Upon hooking to shore power the inverter started doing it's thing to charge the lithium batteries. I tracked down a salesperson to ask about the noise and it was the first time they had noticed and were going to investigate but we left before hearing the outcome. I hope it's not a common occurrence, I think it would be a deal breaker for us.

Welcome Stevon & Mary. We are Wendy and John and we won't be picking ours up until mid Jan next year. We're full timing in our Casita ( a little over a year now) and appreciate the places we can go that the big rigs can't. Getting rid of our "stuff" has been a difficult chore but we are thankful for the liberation! Every day is an adventure and our only regret is that we didn't start many years sooner. Thanks John 🙂 Bill, I'm still weighing the pros and cons of the roof panel install vs only carrying around the 230w portable and charging through the solar port. I'm now leaning toward the roof mounted option and carrying around a smaller 170w portable, just wanted to know the problems with the care of the roof panels. For sure I like the idea of spreading out my weight and use of some grippy knee pads, no walking around up there 🙂

For all you full-timers, how often do you clean your solar panels? I've seen comments, elsewhere, from every couple of months to twice a year. John

Welcome Katie and Jeff, The factory tour is what put us over the edge. We have to wait until mid January to pick ours up. Hope to see you "out there" one day. Have fun and safe travels 🙂
