  1. That is encouraging. We too are moving from tent camping so at this point everything seems like a luxury 😁 Interesting. The night stand, while aesthetically pleasing, eats intothe seating around the table. With 2 younger kids, the extra space for a butt seems critical. We're still thinking that adding the lagoon mount to the king floor plan will allow us to ditch the table in the future should we decide it isn't as usable as we thought. Having the factory add the twin extensions is always something we could opt for later if our plans change. If anyone wants to point out flaws in my logic, please do! 😃
  2. Are you using the factory padding or something different? We're starting to seriously considering changing our order to the standard king layout; sleeping on benches with standard cushions and the table set up most of the time *seems* doable but I haven't seen anyone discuss this as being a workable solution 😎 The bench width is a little larger than our tent sleeping pads so I think I have some type of reference for what the sleeping experience will be like. If anyone does something similar, let me know!
  3. Would a different shock alleviate some of that travel or would the entire axle need to be upgraded? We're interested in pushing ours a bit so I'm curious about what options might exist.
  4. I wonder if this has anything to do with the change: https://rvbusiness.com/dometic-announces-closure-of-lagrange-ind-plant/ Anyone know where Girard manufactures?
  5. I was afraid of that. I wonder if they switched due to supply chain issues.
  6. Thanks! If I get specifics, I'll update the thread.
  7. I've spoken to sales about the warranty. They don't have specific paperwork on it yet but told me they believe the same warranty offered by LifeBlue would apply when sold with an Oliver. https://www.lifebluebattery.com/ewExternalFiles/Warranty .pdf (yes, the space is actually required before the file extension.) They said information would eventually be posted in the university section. While I'm sure the batteries will last at least 10 years when properly cared for, LifeBlue as a company seems super sketchy. Without assurance from Oliver that they will handle the warranty claim, I'll probably drop the LiFePO4 upgrade from my final order before my build starts. I'd rather spend more on something from a company that actually has a history honoring claims or even just a history of selling batteries ðŸĪŠ
  8. Fritz, did someone at Oliver tell you they are switching to Girard awnings? If so, did they say why and which models they will be using?
  9. 😆They specifically mentioned "a place to plug in your CPAP machine," so at least they understand the problem that was created.
  10. I received a partial answer from the sales department regarding the 110v outlet situation for 2021 trailers. First, an exact reason for the floor level 110v outlet removal was not provided; however, they did specifically mention Canadian regulations at one point in the conversation. The good news is that the 2021 models should have a new 110v outlet somewhere close to the pantry area opposite the stove. I couldn't nail down exactly where the outlet would be during our call. If anyone is able to get better information, please update us!
  11. Does anyone know how wide the benches are in the non-twin layout? My guess is 25 inches.
  12. Interesting! Thank you for the great information. I'm guessing quite a few people were not aware of that.
  13. I've seen a lot of well executed table ideas for the twin bed table setups like Overland's excellent 8020 Lagun mount. Still, I have a hard time ignoring the usable space that the standard wrap around table option provides. This is especially true for insane families of 4 that still opt for the Oliver. ðŸĪŠ I've poked around the forums but couldn't find anyone entertaining the idea of using a marine mounted adjustable table that could drop both the rear dinette and the smaller front table down to the bed position. While this option would still be annoying to perform on a daily bases, it would be far less than obnoxious than removing the current legs every night. Is anyone aware of someone that has performed this modification? If not, can anyone speculate on why this hasn't been done other than the simple fact that something like 80% of Olivers sold opt for the twin layout? Is there anything special about how the current table mounts are screwed into the fiberglass? e.g. extra fiberglass reinforcement or backing plates? Thanks!
  14. The entire night stand top can be removed with 4 screws? It looks like it is part of the mold? I love your custom bracket by the way. I've had your post bookmarked for at least 2 years. 😃
  15. Does Oliver sell an option that deletes the night stand to allow the wrap around seating in the rear with twin beds? Darren's setup looks like a way better use of space! When the lagun blocks access to the drawer there isn't much of a point to having one 😃 (I know the top pops off the nightstand).
  16. Thanks, John. You're a wealth of information. Oliver should put you on the payroll! 😂 The mount came with the car surprisingly. The car also has the ECT PWR button for shift point adjustment. Once I get the trailer on the road, I'll post my average temps here for anyone that might be interested. Thanks again!
  17. I'd be a fool to go against the manual and two LC and Oliver owners - I'm sold. Wow! Maybe I should skip the front rack and switch back to 20lb propane tanks. Someone on ih8mud was towing a 5500-6000 lbs trailer on 35psi using the firestone bags. Have you taken yours over 12 and if so, what made you go back to 12? It is a 2019 with 0 modifications. I remember reading about people towing in sport mode to to stay out of overdrive in 5th and 6th gear for transmission temp reasons. Do you do the same? Curious to hear from Mossey on this one too. If true, I assume I should do the same and keep it out of 7th and 8th. Would the factory Toyota mount work? PN: PT22860084 DROP: 4 1/5" LOAD RATING (BALL): 9000 lbs RISE: 3" Good call on the utility trailer for a weekend! I really appreciate both of you taking the time to respond. The LC doesn't seem like an ideal towing option but you both have given me some hope that we can actually pull it off! 😀
  18. Thanks, Mossey! The REDARC's installation looks simple and clean. The controller isn't listed as being compatible after 2017 but I'm guessing it simply hasn't been updated on their site. There is a youtube video of someone installing it in their 2018 so I should be good on a 2019. Good to know!
  19. John and Mike, I've never towed anything larger than a lawn mower before so please forgive me for the questions I'm about to throw at you! Are both of you still using your LC200 to tow your trailer? Do either of you know how the vehicle towed without the Anderson hitch? I'm really curious to know if you think the improvements are worth the cost. It sounds like the Elite II doesn't have much sway to begin with and I would basically be buying it to take weight off the tongue (please correct me if I'm wrong here). Also, am I mistaken in thinking the bulldog hitch can be extended forward to accomplish similar weight reduction on the tongue? John, based on some other threads I read of yours, your LC still has more bounce than you'd prefer. What is the max PSI you've added to the bags and is there a reason you don't go higher? Are there any other suggestions either of you have for improving the towing capabilities of the LC? Maybe things you'd like to try but haven't for one reason or another. Do you have a ball and mount recommendation? Would both of you still recommend your brake controller? Thank you and sorry! 😃
  20. I didn't think you were an employee. I thought that the juxtaposition of your quote with something sales might say was too funny to go unsaid. 😁 I appreciate the info though!
  21. Looking at the datasheet for the XC Pro, you can hard-wire or install a 20 AMP GFCI outlet in the front of the unit. I have no info yet from sales; waiting on a call back.
  22. You're good. I'm just trying to get to the bottom of this mystery. 😃 Good info! Thank you!
  23. It sounds like Oliver removed the standard 110 outlets below the twin bets leaving only the kitchen 110 and the attic 110 in the rear of the trailer. We work remotely so a laptop being plugged in for a very large portion of the day is a big deal. A laptop is basically our TV as well. I have a call with my sales agent in an hour and I'll let you know what they tell me.
  24. I get that we'll need to do it eventually. We will be replacing the Zamp controller at some point. I'm just saying that it is a pretty big omission on any trailer let alone one at this price point.
  25. I'm sure you know that there aren't too many places to go if you're already looking at an Oliver. We've looked at every other fiberglass RV manufacturer including NL's Boreal which doesn't even have molds yet. We almost took the huge risk of going with the new Happier Camper but couldn't pull the trigger even with the price being substantially less and the layout being better better (for us). The outlet situation is a little worse when you already have an order placed with them that includes a $9,000 solar/inverter system. I doubt we'll even use the TV or Stereo. All of those things have been replaced by our laptops which need 110. I don't see this trend going away any time soon. Hopefully the humor of suggesting someone cut into their new trailer to be able to use their inverter without running an extension cord from the ceiling isn't lost on anyone. 😃
