  1. I'm guessing the number of people that opted for the standard floor plan AND the Ultrafabric upgrade is slim but I thought it would be worth asking since there is very little information on the forums about it. Has anyone purchased this upgrade and actually regretted doing so? Conversely, has anyone gone with the regular fabric and regretted not getting the upgrade? ðŸĪ I'd also love to hear anyone's thoughts on Brisa vs Ultraleather. AFAIK, Oliver is still installing Ultrafabric's Brisa line. Airstream folks seem to love their Ultrafabric Ultraleather though. The safe play seems to be: save $1000 dollars and if the fabric is awful, pay someone else to do it; that said, the experience here is so vast I couldn't help myself asking. Thanks again!
  2. Can anyone confirm these coax runs are accessible from the basement to the attic? I'm interested in running LMR-400 from those outlets to the attic for MIMO cellular antennas. If the runs are not accessible, this will be another "post build" request. Hopefully this will be my last weird question for at least a week. 😁
  3. I too would love to spend most of my time outside; unfortunately, I'm not retired yet and a large chunk of my time will be spent working. I'm not interested in blasting music; most of the time it will simply be podcasts in the background. Regarding acoustics, I don't expect concert hall quality. I'm just interested in spending a little more than $5 per speaker for something that is going to be in the background for a large chunk of my time 😁 Yeah, the speaker thing just seems so simple that it could be done post build with a note on the initial build saying "don't install speakers." I'm in the process of preparing an email with all of my final questions for my rep. I've already confirmed they will install the upgraded coupler post build. Speakers kind of feel like the same thing. I'll know shortly. 😃 Thanks for the thread though, I was reading through it last night.
  4. I've been spoiled by higher end audio for about 3 decades so the thought of cutting a hole in that beautiful fiberglass for a 5 dollar speaker hurts my feelings a bit 😁 The mounting patterns, sizes, and depths are all different so just getting what you want ahead of time seems logical if possible. I'm getting close to crunch time for my build so I'm just getting picky at this point.
  5. I could only find one post from donthompson about upgraded speakers. He mentioned they were JBL but didn't provide the model. Has anyone else bothered to upgrade and if so, what did you go with?
  6. Thanks SeaDawg. I assumed the lower panel vented the fridge.
  7. When opting for the storage compartment over a microwave oven, what is the purpose of the exterior top vent? Does it provide access to anything that couldn't be reached from the interior?
  8. I was backpacking and one of these guys made me think I was having a heart attack. The thud is so loud you can actually feel it in your chest. It was one of the most bizarre experiences I've ever had.
  9. Thanks Mossey and SeaDawg! That makes sense to me 😁 I'm getting close to my configuration deadline so I've been digging into the solar setup a little too much.
  10. I noticed a Xantrex monitoring panel and a Zamp charge controller installed in a 2020 Elite II. The Freedom XC Pro 2/3000 supports battery charging so I was curious if the Zamp controller is installed when opting for the XC Pro units and if so, does anyone know why?
  11. I'd save some cash and get the RV 890 instead of the Overlander. Better hardware and updated software with a very similar feature set.
  12. Is the Oliver window cutout a standard travel trailer size? I've been looking at them for years waiting for a window refresh and finally bit the bullet despite all of the window issues that have been documented over the years. I'd feel better knowing the the window cutout is "industry standard." I assumed that wasn't a thing though. 😁
  13. I've signed up to beta test but haven't been invited in the first round of emails that just went out. As someone who plans on working and traveling, it has the potential to be a game changer. For now, the dish probably doesn't lend itself for direct mounting on a trailer but I'm guessing that will change in the near future. The current dish could probably be used from any site if you simply sat it on a pedestal however. It is currently unknown if they will allow beta testers to travel with their units. Leaked images of the current dish: https://imgur.com/a/ygxncIO
  14. I can easily overload my entire trailer, use a dangerous tow vehicle, fail to configure my brake controller, fail to inspect and maintain wheels, etc... Artificially limiting what we can use our receiver for is pretty silly given the already high level of potential danger involved in towing. Oliver should simply put a load sticker on it like everything else and give responsible owners a 2 inch receiver.
  15. Thanks. I thought this was about Oliver switching from Dometic to Girard. That is one crazy story though.
  16. Can you expand on that a bit? An incident at Oliver or at Dometic? Thanks!
  17. I'm honestly surprised they went with the 16'. The cost difference is substantial. Assuming the quality is on par or better than the Dometic, good on them. Thanks for the info!
  18. Yeah, DOD has a huge impact on batteries, even lifepo4. Here is a graph from another manufacturer but the curves should apply more or less to any battery of similar chemistry:
  19. The lifepo4 stuff is arguably a bit over-hyped. That said, you only need to look at cycles and DOD to understand why lifepo4 has a following: https://www.trojanbattery.com/pdf/AGM_Trojan_ProductLineSheet.pdf If you discharged somewhere between 80-90% of an AGM, the expected number of cycles would be 500. Compare that to lifepo4 which claims to handle 100% DOD at 2800 cycles. The AGM setup would realistically need replaced 4-5 times before the lifepo4 setup would need to be. It all just boils down to how many amps you can pull before the batteries bite the dust. I'm guessing there is only a slight advantage ($ per amp) to lifepo4 at current prices but lifepo4 costs should continue to fall.
  20. That is great information. Stuff like that should be on your website! Seriously consider hiring a web developer and adding more technical information. The current site made me seriously consider how I might spend $4,000 elsewhere. ðŸĪŠ A lot of the early battery management systems would actually kill lifepo4; parasitic drain from WiFi, Bluetooth, LEDs, etc. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer most of these questions.
  21. I'm not sure where the 95F number on Lifeblue's datasheet comes from other than Topband's optimal storage conditions. If you look at the real data sheet it states: Storage Environment: < 1 Month: -20ï―ž+60℃,5ï―ž75%RH < 3 Months: -10ï―ž+45℃,5ï―ž75%RH Recommended Environment: 15ï―ž35℃,5ï―ž75%RH Charge and discharge temps: Charge: 0ï―ž45℃ Discharge: -20ï―ž60℃ Source: http://www.rechargeablelifepo4battery.com/sale-11854400-bluetooth-app-12v-200ah-lithium-iron-phosphate-battery-customize-with-heating-film.html
  22. Has anyone had Oliver install a third roof panel on an Elite II? I assume there is room for something like Overland did, especially if you delete the satellite/TV receivers/antennas.
