Missing Dexter EZ Flex Hanger Wet Bolt/Zerks
Gliddenwoods replied to Gliddenwoods's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
FloraFauna & Bill, Thanks for your replies. I understand that Dexter makes ex flex with and without zerks. I assumed that my Oliver had the ez flex without zerks as Oliver used in the past. You both raised a different possible answer that my ez flex once had zerks but both have become loose and fallen out. Interesting different answer and warrants inspection... -
I have a 2022 Elite II. Prior to this time I have had my leaf springs and ez flex hanger zerks greased by trailer service departments. Today as I prepped to do the the 16 zerks (8 on each side) myself I determined that I have 8 on one side and six on the other. On one side the two ez flex hanger zerks are missing; I have just the 6 leaf spring shackle zerks! It would certainly appear I purchased an incorrectly assembled Oliver suspension system. I will call Oliver on Monday, but I am just outside of my two warranty period and I am assuming I am on my own even though I just discovered their assembly error. Any thoughts, advice, sympathy and/or empathy? Thanks.

Changing tires in the wild - lessons learned
Gliddenwoods replied to John and Jodi's topic in General Discussion
I was at Oliver two weeks ago and service manager Mike took off one of my hubs (to confirm axle type) and he took the hub off (and replaced) without taking the wheel off so quick I missed his method...but he did it. -

Oh I know this story too well. My yesterday morning in Salida, Co in the attached photos. I used both a jack and the stabilizing jacks. When using the stabilizer does one use both? Also, why not just remove the hub cap for socket access and then put back on? -
Good to meet you in the Oliver "campground" when you arrived for your leak repair. Good it is now fixed...bad about the cost. Be well.

I too made the jump from a NuCamp 400 to an Oliver. I don't regret my Oliver purchase; but I still have a fond spot in my heart for NuCamp in general and my Boondock 400...

I tow with a 2019 Ford F-150 and have the 640 AH lithium batteries. Sometimes (not always) when I start my F-150 when towing the truck has a weak crank/battery but (so far) always starts. Since I have 640 AH lithium batteries the truck alternator is not used to charge the batteries. The running lights of the Oliver do draw the charge from the truck, but seems unlikely being enough of a draw to weaken the truck battery. The truck battery is less than two years old and tests Ok. So, what are the potential causes of the towing truck weak battery{?} and weak start cranking? Need larger battery? Need new or alternator or high capacity alternator? What is your guess? Has anyone else experience weaking starting crank when towing an Oliver Travel Trailer?

3500 pound versus 5200 pound axles on a LE2
Gliddenwoods replied to John and Debbie's topic in General Discussion
Alcan said they contacted Dexter and Alcan said Dexter my Oliver did not have Nev-r-lube. In addition others had a different opinion of both you and Alcan. So I went on a mission to determine for myself even tho you, and others, were so sure of themselves. Not until late this morning did I determine for sure I have both. Oliver websites have alot of "experts" who are often wrong. -

The axle label includes "nev-r-adjust"......does that mean this axle does not include "nev-r-lube"? Confusing. Does the 2022 have both -
Off topic. What area of Wisconsin? Door County here...

Made in USA leaf springs

Thanks for the explanation! If I understand correctly it is very possibe (likely) I have "nev-r-lube" axles AND "nev-r-adjust" brakes. Yes? -

I should added to my previous post that my maintence/service (or lack there of) has been based on Owner Manual statement that my Oliver has "nev-r-lube" axles; now I need to find out what "lube" has been missed by the miss-information.
