  1. Love Blackwater River. I'm heading down to Mobile for the holiday and was thinking of staying a few nights there on the way home. Looks like there are some sites at Ft. Pickens between Christmas and New Year as well... 🤔 Jealous of your cruise, a warm beach would be nice right about now!
  2. Ok, good to know. I just remember Rodney saying at the rally that the sales dept was closed and that Phil Andrews and Jason Lindsey were no longer with the company. But I think Anita has been there a long time. 👍 Things have changed a lot, obviously.
  3. Ahhh, interesting! I stand corrected 🙂 I'm sure they are selling at the same price as the dealer so as not to undercut them. Unfortunately, you can't edit a video once it is posted to youtube, but I will include a comment in a future video that you can still order direct from Oliver (assuming there's not a dealer in your state). So they let their sales staff go and now they are still selling direct... 🤔
  4. New Episode returning to Hohenwald
  5. Update- I brought the camper back to Hohenwald and they determined the mount broke due to a defect during manufacture. Apparently the holes were drilled in the wrong location and a repair was made that ultimately failed. Bottom line, they upgraded me from a regular microwave to a convection model at no cost. Got it installed yesterday. I also had an issue with the vent cap on the roof. Looked like it was over torqued during installation and cracked at all the holes. Since I had not reported that during warranty, I did have to pay to have that replaced, but they basically charged me their cost- $49. Outstanding customer service for a camper that is out of warranty.
  6. New episode at Burchfield Branch COE campground:
  7. I can see how those straps would help hold the microwave rigid, for sure. I wonder why they don't do that during installation? You're right- the metal frame is cracked in that corner. Hopefully Oliver will send me a replacement and some info on how to secure the rear of the microwave. Thanks for the photos, they are helpful!
  8. Thanks Bill, I entered a ticket with Oliver, we'll see what they say about it. This is an idea I have had rolling around before the mounting problem. I would really rather have an oven/air fryer over the microwave. The only thing I usually use it for is heating up leftovers and my morning oatmeal. But I could use the air fryer for leftovers and cook my oatmeal on the stove top. What specific model did you replace your microwave with?
  9. When I got to my most recent destination, I was met with this surprise with my microwave: The screws were completely out and the fiberglass behind the face plate was broken into small pieces. It looks like the holes were very close to the opening and snapped. The other issue is that the microwave seems to be supported only by the screws on the front plate. The rear has some wooden blocks that look like they are meant to support it, but the board they would otherwise be supported by doesn't line up. The view from the exterior vent next to the door: Anybody else run into this problem?
  10. Thanks! I’m trying to embrace my inner kindergartener! 🤣

  15. Thanks for posting the link! I meant to add it here but it slipped my mind. Then I saw youtube showing that I was getting a lot of views from olivertraveltrailers.com and I figured someone had posted it 😄 Yes, I didn't get everything, but it would have been an hour long just from his remarks. Maybe next time I can setup a better camera on a tripod and get the whole thing. Thanks! I had a great time as well! Thanks, appreciate it. Didn't hear anything specific from Oliver about the springs... Thanks Steve, appreciate you and Deb being so friendly and welcoming! Hopefully will have part 2 out in a short while, with the Cathedral Caverns trip and also a few of the open house tours

  19. Faraday pouch is probably a good idea-- the latest Ford key fobs have a motion sensor that will turn them off after 40 seconds of no motion, so they don't respond to relay attacks. But, of course, thieves are smart and always outsmarting defenses. Because so many parts of newer cars have micro-controllers, those vehicles basically have a built-in local area network for communication between components. There have been some thefts of newer cars where thieves break a headlight and use the connection to hack into the network to unlock the doors and turn on the ignition. Security reminds me of surviving a bear attack- You don't have to be faster than the bear, just faster than the guy running beside you! If your car is harder to steal, thieves will move on to an easier target.
