I too, cannot figure that out. Turning it down to lowest setting and it will still run (when I need to defrost it). The only way I know to totally turn it off is to pull the 12v fuse. I been thinking about installing a switch to make it easier.

Yes you have to keep turning it until you feel a click. The light however still comes on when the door is opened, even when the fridge is turned “off”.

Yep! I placed a dish towel over the top of the door to keep the door from closing over the winter. If placed correctly, the door stays open but the light switch is depressed, shutting off the light.

Or, add a separate switch.

I have the new fridge (2-way) and wondered how to turn off. Plus, I always leave frig door open when storing and now I have to deal with the light. Guess I will pull the fuse and breaker.

I disconnect the light.

Your comment prompted me to go take another look at the fridge light.

My light and thermostat seem to be one unit with a wire going into the interior of the fridge.  I do not see a way of pulling the plug on the light.

Can you illuminate on  how you disconnect the light.

Certainly.

Pull forward on light housing:

Ignore bulb and remove electrical connection at back:
