Gorilla compact 25’ hose for marine and RV use

It would take me two beers to patiently and correctly wind up the Gorilla, being that I would probably fumble it a time or two trying to get the perfect roll and have to start over!

If you start with 3 beers it makes the process go a bunch easier - you don't give a ....!

I can imagine the flattened nature of these hoses would resist water suction. However, I use a cutoff hose that can be inserted into a bucket for transport. A longer hose for boondocking wouldn’t make sense for me.

That will work or get a small section of PVC clear reinforced braided vinyl tubing. My dedicated hose fits inside a gallon Ziploc bag for ease of storage. Mostly used in the tank sanitation process via the boondocking port, but I also carry two 5-gal collapsible containers if fresh water supply ever runs low. I can see in your application where the longer hose would be necessary.

This is what I use. Though I should upgrade. Mine lookes like it was left outside sitting in a dog turd.

These hand-held options don't work for us. We do not carry small water tanks to the rear of the Oliver. I fill a 35-gal FWT in the truck bed every time we fill water. With the onboard FWT full and our extra tank we can boondock, not worry about water for 10 days.

I use a 25' and 10' rigid hose to connect the two while still being hitched. Fill about 18 gallons after a few days out and the rest of the tank after a week. I must use rigid hoses and never seem to have an issue stretching them out since I wind them in large 3' circles and curve them oval to fit in the Oliver trunk over other stuff. Flat hoses would be cool, but will not work for us!

That is more boondocking than I have had time for, unfortunately. If I could get away from my job long enough to need that much water, I would absolutely love to carry extra hoses with me. 
 

My boondocking experience so far has been two days near a water supply I couldn’t quite reach with my abundance of hoses.

He lives in the desert, sonit kinda makes sense. You never know when a Graboid will break into his goll dern wreck room.

It’s just nice even at a campground to not bother with any hookups. We have all the water and electric we need. Just dump gray every 5 days, black every 10, and where we Boondock most places we can drop some gray in the BLM or NF.

I’m with you on this. One day when I actually get more than a day and a half to do some camping, I could see how far I can go with what water I have.

It’s lightweight, flexible, and very flexible even when cold. 

I have two minor gripes: the connectors seem to be zinc or some alloy that corrodes. Not to the point of crumbling, but it does make it hard to thread. I’ll try a little plumbers grease and see if that helps. Also, as the hose material is quite soft, you could probably twist or damage it if you’re not careful about tightening/loosening it. It could use an extended “grip” just behind the coupler.

I have a dedicated Zero-G hose for city water or fresh water fill, two old Camco hoses for added length if needed, and a cheapo green hardware store hose for black tank flushing or grey water drain. 

Though storage IS at a premium on the LE2, the above hoses, electric cable, water pressure regulator, and a few other things fit easily in the “basement” accessible from outside.

I have quick connect components on all of my hose ends so no need for tightening/loosening. I also use Teflon tape on all of the threaded connections.

I have a 25’ zero-G fitted with a flow meter and stowed in the rear bumper compartment. It doesn’t take up much space and is easy to access. I generally flush the tank a couple of times following the initial dump. With the black tank valve closed, I meter the amount of flush water prior to release and leave the water flowing during the process for added spray action; the process is then repeated.

I’ve been down the route with the quick connects before. Generally I like them. I had a bunch of “Gardena” (high-end German made) ones when I did a lot of outdoor stuff. I’d have to find one I thought was really great before I invest in as many as I’d like. I do find that they’d tend to leak after a while. Some you could get replacement O-rings for. For now, I’ll stick with the GHT and spend an extra minute hooking/unhooking.

I do the same thing - but without the flow meter. Once I have the black valve open I unleash the Sann-T-Flush water and close an open the valve a couple of times. I just “guess” when I’ve got a couple of gallons into the tank.

Received my 2 Gorilla hoses last week. Looking forward to using them. I have had one soft hose for 12 years I use to flush my black and gray tanks.

Invest indeed! I have the ELEY Garden QC sets, which happen to be on sale now. I like that they are full-flow, commercial-duty  fittings.
