I went ahead and started a thread for this Smart Thermostat. I just installed it for my Pioneer Inverter and it works like a charm. Fan shuts down with the compressor. A wonderful little gadget. Thank you folks for showing us this.

All I did was use the USB port in the Ollie for power and it was a "Breez" to get connected. Thanks for schooling us on the comfort modes too.

Good to know information on and my experiences with the Cielo Breez Max, buried in my Dreiha Atmos 4.4 Home Install thread, got some attention. Thanks @rich.dev for the mention!

Here is the way the Pioneer cycles in the Ollie 2.

It is my understanding that these inverter a/c units are designed for always-on cooling, wherein the fan and compressor run continuously at variable speeds for better dehumidification and energy efficiency. It will be interesting to see any differences noted in normal operation of your unit compared to that when using the Cielo in Comfy Mode.

@Ronbrink did you mention there's a way to have the fan continue running for a few minutes after compressor shuts off?

Per the June 2 post in my Dreiha Atmos thread:

“The following has been found beneficial in ‘Setpoint’ selection in Comfy Mode, but may be applicable with use of Comfy Max Mode, as well; TBD. It is important to know that a setpoint one or two degrees below the upper range of temperature selected will have the fan run more than the compressor prior to power shutdown; whereas a setpoint of three or four degrees will have the fan and compressor turn off in sync, and the outside blower fan runs a half minute or so before total shutdown of the unit.”

I have tried it both ways and works as described.

Thanks for this! I'll be installing a Pioneer myself in the near future and it's good to know that I can use this thermostat with it.

Hardly, let’s just call it ‘resourceful’! That said, I don’t understand the lack of interest or inquisitiveness, other than a couple of folk, in the Cielo. Many have expressed frustration regarding humidity issues with their units, and asked in this forum for the reason and/or a solution. The Cielo has its idiosyncrasies, but perhaps the Wi-Fi dependency is a deterrent or simply the thought of adding another device. Time will tell!

I have a mini split at my house and I bought the Cielo for it. I use the scheduler and let it run with the fan like a normal mini split in the day but at night it automatically switches over to a different mode I set up where the fan shuts off with compressor. It's a great little Thermostat. You can set up multiple modes with different names within Comfy  or Comfy Max and set it up to use them at set times and days.

Looking at the Cielo website, they have several models.

Is it only the "Max" model that has the functionality to turn the fan off with the compressor? They also have Pro, Eco and Lite models.

I don't think I'll be buying anything under the "Max" version myself. I like to be able to see Temp/Humidity and make adjustments without having to go to my phone.

The Pioneer and Turbro Greenland A/C units are remote or phone controlled. The OEM Dometic thermostat shows set temp but not actual temp, so I often have my phone open to the Ruuvi Sensors App to check cabin temp and fridge/freezer and basement temps. Also, I need my phone to level the trailer and check propane tank levels.

I'm happy for these Bluetooth apps for so many things. I check battery stats and all Victron devices via the VictronConnect App. Many Oliver owners have installed Victron BMV-712 or Cerbo GX displays, not me! I can see all the same specs, turn our inverter off when needed and all from my phone. Why spend the extra money for a display that can only be used when standing in front of it? Why cut openings in fiberglass walls and complicate the simple interior design of the Oliver? What happens when technology advances and the installed display is no longer usable?

I would not purchase the Cielo Breez Max until after a new A/C installation, determine whether we truly need another device. Take another look at the Cielo Breez Max. It appears it can be operated by touch controls on the device itself or by phone app. Likely control by the phone app is not needed on a daily basis after initial configuration setup.

If you are going to keep the remote nearby to make adjustments just act like the phone is your remote? The app has a Ton more features. It's very convenient. And you are connected to the AC from anywhere to make adjustments if you have Wi-Fi.

Yes, will definitely be using the app/remote, just like having the display available for a quick look at the temp. I'm also known to lose remotes and phones so it's good to have a backup too...
