rideandfly
Debbie & I just returned from a camping trip at the Army Corps of Engineers "Bandits Roost Campground" at W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir close to Wilkesboro NC. We stayed on one of our favorite sites there, #28. This campground is a great place for kayaking, power boating, fishing, with many other activities in the area, too. http://www.recreation.gov/camping/bandits-roost/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=73074 Here's a few photos: 2 2015 LE2 #75 / 2024 F-150/5.0L

Moderators SeaDawg Posted May 6, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 6, 2016 We've stayed in many Corps campgrounds, and have had great experiences. Don't remember ever having power available, but some beautiful campsites, and of course, water views. Have you seen/purchsed the book, "Camping with the Corps"? And gee, Ridenfly, those photos are just awesome! Look like they were professionally staged. Love the campsite, views, and of course, your Ollie. John E Davies
I don't think I would like a site within 1/4 mile of her.... She should be using electric saws! However I am a big Stihl fan, so maybe I would give her a little slack. . . Nah! Are there no rules about commercial activity and disturbing the peace? rideandfly
John, At the time she was one of seven Women in the world making these for a living with power saws. The little bear is guarding our front porch! We bought the black bear on the left for $50 from her at an antique tractor show. We were camping at a ACE campground in western Illinois when the family camping next to us invited us to the antique tractor show. Their family was showing 5 tractors there. 2015 LE2 #75 / 2024 F-150/5.0L
