Hello from Oregon!

We've been lurking for a year and finally pulled the trigger on an Elite II.  We decided to delay pickup until May 14th so we can travel in better weather and then continue on to the rally at Lake Guntersville in May. We've made our reservations for the rally and are really looking forward to meeting everyone.  What a perfect shake down trip! If we get confused about something, we'll be surrounded by Ollie Veterans ?  We're really looking forward to boondocking and doing a different type of trailering that we've done in years past.  LOTS to learn, but hey.....  you're never too old to learn new tricks right?  ~ Steph and Steve Kimball from Jacksonville, OREGON

Hi guys! We're Oregonians also, in Florence right now at the inlaws.

We'll be driving through Florence next weekend on our way to Yachats, then to Astoria for 3 nights. Hotels this trip, next year we'll take the Oliver! We like Fort Steven's State Park, have you stayed there in your Ollie?

We went to the Oregon coast this past July with our Oliver, and it was fabulous. We stayed at Fort Stevens State Park, and it was great. Bring your bikes as, the park has great bike trails.

 

One other thing. Oregon has fantastic highway bridges along Highway 101. They are treasures, aesthetically, architecturally, and from an engineering standpoint. If you like the bridges, there is is a nice free museum called the Historic Alsea Bay Bridge Interpretive Center, in Waldport, OR. It is just south of the Waldport Bridge that crosses Alsea Bay.

Yup, twice at Ft Stevens and Cape Disapointment is great also and you can pan for gold on the beach there these days with great results.
