Freedom808 Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Hi I'm really interested in buying a Oliver. I live in Las Cruces, NM. Is it easier to pick it up from factory or have it shipped near me? I only saw a few videos of this trailer, but not much on people's experience. Can you tell me about it? Thanks
Moderators SeaDawg Posted September 2, 2019 Moderators Posted September 2, 2019 There is a 2017 with low miles thats probably still for sale, 3 hours north of you in albequerque, if you check the Classifieds. No solar, but other extras. As far as delivery vs pickup, most people look at the pickup as a time to learn the trailer and its systems, and look at the trip home as a first adventure. Much depends on your time and availability. Welcome to the forum. Lots of folks here to help. Ask away. Sherry 2008 Ram 1500 4 × 4 2008 Oliver Elite, Hull #12 Florida and Western North Carolina, or wherever the truck goes.... 400 watts solar. DC compressor fridge. No inverter. 2 x 105 ah agm batteries . Life is good.
Teal Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 I recently purchased a used Oliver my original plan was to pick it up and enjoy the trip home but life interfered. Oliver (co.) Gave me the name of Painted Cowboy transport and Daniel was great! In spite of more unexpected things in my life the Ollie transport was great and not unreasonable. Anya 2
Overland Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 I think I saw one for sale up in Santa Fe also.
WhatDa Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Sounds like you need to book a tour with an Oliver owner. Click “see an Ollie” on this website. If you already have a tow vehicle and have the time, making a vacation/road trip out of it is great. The Smoky mountains are sight to be seen. Otherwise, you can get your trailer delivered to your door. Between Olivers…
thirddoor Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 If you haven't seen an Olly in person, I agree with WhatDa's suggestion. Oliver set up a meeting with a local owner who showed us his rig, and we placed our order the next day. We elected to have ours shipped to Denver (we live in Oregon), rather than make the drive all the way to TN. Daniel with Painted Cowboy was terrific. Great communication and fair pricing. We were able to spend the next 4 weeks camping our way back home. We spent a LOT of time in the University section of this site getting familiar with the trailer. The YouTube tour videos were very instructive as well. Of course, this forum has been invaluable resource! I don't think we missed anything by not doing the orientation in person. Every interaction we've had with the Oliver staff (especially Phil!!) has been exemplary. The order, purchase and delivery process was super smooth and a pleasure. We love our new Olly! 3 2019 Legacy Elite II #488 - Delivery July 24, 2019 2018 F150 Platinum SC SB EB - Leer canopy
