John E Davies Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 (edited) Any news of the rumored move to bigger and better headquarters? I would love to see some pics. While we are waiting breathlessly, here are a couple of promo videos from Aluma Trailers in Iowa. What their employees say about Alumas applies just as well to Ollies. Aluma Trailer Promo Aluma Factory Expansion video Does anyone here own an Aluma brand utility or other type of trailer? Do you like it? I have been looking for a small used one. Patriot Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 (edited) Hi John, I own a 2018 14’ Aluma utility trailer (UTR14) and have been very happy with it. I use it to haul my 1025R when I need to have it serviced or when hauling mulch for our blueberry grove. A very nice light weight utility trailer. It is kept garaged when not in use. I would not hesitate to purchase an Aluma trailer again. Trying to find a used Aluma can be challenging, I could not so I purchased new. -David Edited March 3, 2020 by Patriot 1 1 2020 OLEII - Hull #634 aka- “XPLOR” TV 2021 F350 6.7 liter Diesel Lariat Ultimate Tremor aka - “Beast of Burden” Retro upgrades - Truma Aventa 13.5 AC, Alcan 5 leaf pack, Alcan HD shackles & HD wet bolts, 5200lb never lube axles. John E Davies Posted March 3, 2020 Author Posted March 3, 2020 (edited) Patriot, thanks for the comments, I have just discovered this cool trailer, and found out you don't have to import one from Canada. They are right now establishing a US dealer network. They are built tough but fold up to just three feet deep. Cost for a 5'x9' (bed size) in Canada is around US$3000. They are all aircraft aluminum except for the galvanized steel 3500 pound axle and wheels. LED lights, hidden wire runs, built in bifold ramp. No brakes. How much was your pretty Aluma? Patriot Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 (edited) John, Now that appears to be a neat little utility trailer and space saver to boot! Apogee will likely do well in the US market. I believe my 14’ Aluma was right around $3k after a bit of haggling as individual dealers set their own prices. This could likely be due to how many units ordered by a dealer and shipping costs from the Aluma plant to the dealer. -David Edited March 3, 2020 by Patriot 1 1 2020 OLEII - Hull #634 aka- “XPLOR” TV 2021 F350 6.7 liter Diesel Lariat Ultimate Tremor aka - “Beast of Burden” Retro upgrades - Truma Aventa 13.5 AC, Alcan 5 leaf pack, Alcan HD shackles & HD wet bolts, 5200lb never lube axles. Moderators topgun2 Posted March 7, 2020 Moderators Posted March 7, 2020 And - back to John's original question: I've been told that the Sales office will, indeed, move to the new location (299 Industrial Ave) once renovations are completed. This is presently scheduled to happen around June, 2020. In looking at the site with Google Maps https://www.google.com/maps/place/299+Industrial+Ave,+Hohenwald,+TN+38462/@35.5618843,-87.5397438,17z/data=!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x88634ab5b88f2967:0xf35ff32d4edfb6d6!2s299+Industrial+Ave,+Hohenwald,+TN+38462!3b1!8m2!3d35.5618843!4d-87.5375551!3m4!1s0x88634ab5b88f2967:0xf35ff32d4edfb6d6!8m2!3d35.5618843!4d-87.5375551 , there appears to be a bunch of room for all kinds of neat things (like overnight camping in the back) but I've not heard any details. There is presently a nice concrete apron surrounding the facility and it appears that getting in/out will be reasonably easy. Patriot Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 (edited) On February 11 during our previous visit to Oliver, Anita told us we would be taking delivery at the new sales office/service center in mid May. We are looking forward to delivery of Hull #634 and a hopefully a tour of the new facility. A few pics- with big wow factor!
