I searched the forum but couldn't find anything on this topic.  Late model Ford trucks have a reverse aid that actually works well.  It requires a sticker to be placed on the trailer to train the truck's computer (which trains much easier than me!).

The requirement for learning is that sticker placement must be horizontal and from 7 to 20" behind the center of the ball (see pic below).

In looking at the best pic I can see of the tow hitch area, not sure if it is possible with the front basket mounted.  The camera, mounted at the top of the tailgate might be able to see inside the front basket...but unsure?

Has anyone tried this?

We have the tongue box and I couldn't  find a place for the sticker. Inside the box is too far away, and no room in front of the box.

CORRECTION: New Ford's have gone to a sensor OR sticker.

Interesting - what kind of sensor?

My sticker isn’t fully visible to the camera but the truck hasn’t had any trouble locating it except in very low light. Works great.

I've heard of owners placing the "sticker" on BOTH the tongue and the front of the basket which resulted in the system working perfectly.

So I just setup the protrailer backup assist on my 2021 F150.  It came with a sensor that easily mounted to the trailer tongue.  Once plugged into TV calibration was really simple.   Not sure if the sensor can be used on pre 2021 models.

That's great!  With the 2019, one must use a checkerboard sticker that the computer reads.  I've heard the sensor is much better.   Thanks!

Do you have a basket? If so were did you place it on your tongue.
