  2. Our EcoSeb just arrived today and I'm very pleased with how quiet it is on low and with the small size. I would also like to know where current owners place the unit in their OTT's? It's small enough to store in the OTT closet with ease when not in use and seems big enough to work effectively with the trailer. At the moment I'm giving it try in our laundry room but the real test will be in April on our Alaska trip. I can't wait to get back on the road. Hap

  3. Is the section that all of the suspension components are attached to, steel plate then?

  4. Hap - I believe that this is the kind of thing Jason Walmsley was talking about in regards to the "special tire ramp": https://www.amazon.com/Trailer-Aid-Tandem-Changing-Change-Trailers/dp/B000I4JPZE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519309743&sr=8-1&keywords=RV+tire+ramp It does not appear to me that these things would work very well in the event that both tires were deflated. But, with a bit of effort and some boards I would think that one could get the job done. Also, I think that Jason was only trying to point out that the "Service Request" form is intended to be used for multiple functions to include "technical questions". I used to think that I knew the answer to the questions regarding lifting the Elite II and/or jacking this camper. However, with all of the conflicting "opinions" that have been expressed on the Forum I'm no longer so sure. Bill

  5. Johnny - You have been warned! Steve, Tali and the pups are very persuasive (and a bunch of fun). Welcome to the Forum. Bill

  6. Good evening Steve, I registered under the username [josmith68] and am now checking out the forum. Thanks again for the call; I’m really enjoying the pictures of your trailer—look forward to seeing her in person and “picking your brain”about Oliver Trailers. Safe travels, Johnny Smith

  7. What Jason was referring to is something like this. Alternatively, if you have leveling blocks, you could use those. I don't think every owner will necessarily find it intuitive to jack up their trailer like that - it's a bit of a hack, though it works and obviously people do it. But the procedure should probably be spelled out in detail in the owners manual, particularly since as John said, the current one tells you to use the decorative jacks. This is a good thread, and I think now that it's been raised, the topic deserves a technical bulletin from Oliver. In the past, Oliver owners have been pretty hands-on and mechanically adept, but that's changing. So owners need to be able to tell service technicians the proper way to lift the trailer, because without that instruction some technician is going to put a jack under the frame, and possibly bend the frame and crack the shell. And I'm also worried that John is going to use his hi-lift on the bumper. Also, if one of the options is to lift the trailer with a jack somewhere under the subframe, it should be spelled out exactly where, mostly because I'm not certain there's actually a spot to do that - especially on the older trailers that don't have the extended subframe.

  8. Jason and his team should be congratulated on the new web site. The colors are pleasing, and the photos on the main page are really great, especially Phil Andrews’ stunner of the Ollie next to a campfire with a kayak on the lake! They did a great job with the drop down menus, really increasing functionality for a potential buyer exploring the web site for the first time And, for us Forum users I see that they have just added Recent Topics from the Forums drop down menu. Thanks! I have two suggestions to improve the site. As a current owner who mostly uses the Forums, I accept the fact that the web site’s primary purpose is marketing to new potential owners. Two years ago when I was thinking about buying an Ollie, Wincrasher’s blog and video were very helpful to me. The fact that these were made by a current owner (I know, he subsequently sold the trailer), was very influential, compared to a video made by the manufacturer. There are now a bunch of other videos and blog posts, all made by owners. My suggestion is that the Why Oliver drop down menu include one more menu item, maybe called Owner Generated Content. (This is not the smoothest name, and I hope someone will come up with a better one.) This would lead to a web page that would link to Owner Generated Content, including videos by Buzzy, G&J Roaming and Rolling, Mountainborn, Reed Lukens and Wincrasher. Other videos? It should also link to the blog posts by Wincrasher and SuperSizeLife. There are probably other blog posts. Are there any legal / permissions issues here? Second, I would like to suggest the web page provide links to Oliver Owners’ Blogs. My idea is to have another item under the Forums drop down menu called Oliver Owners’ Blogs. (Better name anyone?) I have stumbled across the blogs of Mendofrank, Mike and Gerri, and SuperSizeLife and I have enjoyed them. I am pretty certain there are other blogs out there by Oliver owners, and I would like to read them. The Oliver Owners’ Blogs page could simply have a short description of each blog along with links. Again, are there legal / permissions issues here? The Oliver Forums have been a great community for sharing useful information, and I think these blogs would enhance that community.
