  1. No way! I’m in the River Hills Community. Small world indeed. I’ll definitely be in your area at some time in the future as I love to fly fish and the White River is fantastic to do.
  2. Thank you both! I’ve definitely been impressed with and feel incredibly welcome to the group. Answers to your questions: 1. Home is Clover SC (just across Lake Wylie from Charlotte). 2. There were a few options for the Apex and out of those I chose the rear hitch for my bike rack, and the Anderson weight distribution hitch. I’m also having an OGO composting toilet installed (prefer over the brand Oliver offers). 3. I decided to go with the Oliver for the two main reasons of their quality build and 4 season capability. As I prefer to camp more off the beaten path having the Apex model option sealed the deal. I’ll be at the Rally in October and hopefully will meet y’all there!
  3. Wow! Thats some serious “bucks”!
  4. Good day all! Wanted to share my hull number and the selected name of my Apex 23 that I’ll be picking up Oct 7th at the Mothership if all goes according to plans. In honor of the hull number I’m choosing a name taken from the writings of Thomas Jefferson (who was born in 1743) along with a “tongue in cheek” nod to part of military career as an Infantry Officer. His “Cannons of Conduct” contain 12 wonderful recommendations about how we should live our lives that I wholeheartedly agree with. So hopefully all will welcome myself, my pups and “Cannon Fodder” to the group. Cheers! Douglas
  5. I shall throw no stones at you for that as “in it’s a small world” between us, I was born in Chicago. As you can appreciate, my dad moved us south while I was a kiddo while working for Eastern Airlines at O’hare and fueling jets in the winter was far more tolerable in Charlotte NC than the Windy City! Besides “Texas” is an attitude that can easily be adopted as per all my friends there.
  6. Best gift ever! Some of my greatest memories were out camping with my folks and grandparents in our “swanky” Sears and Roebuck canvas tent. Oh if they could see me now…🤣
  7. Too cool, looks like we’re both getting Apex’s in October then and as an “Honorary Texan” from my time stationed there will share a Big Texas smile with ya. Cheers!
  8. I’ll be your huckleberry! I have a number of trophy streams out your way to dip a fly line in. Heck, all y’all can even make fun of my southern accent while sipping libations… no offense taken! 🤣
  9. Anyone taken delivery of an Apex 23 yet? Looking forward to reviews!

  10. I was wondering if anyone had put a Vortex or LineX type of covering on their Oliver and what kind of results they had. I’m taking delivery of an Apex 23 in October and have made an appointment with the folks who do the ceramic coatings to do a PPL on the front and lower undersides of my trailer to provide some additional protection against debris being thrown up. Seems like a good idea to do right off the bat vs after taking damage though the thought of spraying my brad new trailer gives me a huge “eak”!!!!
  11. Was happy to read about your Titan. I have a 2020 Pro 4X to tow my Oliver Apex 23 when I get in October. I also purchased the Anderson for same reason you mentioned so feel good about that.
  12. Thank you sir and I’m definitely excited to get into the Apex! I appreciate the advice and “yes” I’ll be at the annual rally (site F-22 to make your Topgun moniker smile…).
  13. Hello all, just joined and happily waiting for delivery of my Apex 23 the first of October. Wondering if a few of “yall” owners would share information on the types of blocks/chalks, hitch lock, ladder and/or other Oliver unique items you’d suggest I get before delivery. Thanks!
