I thought I would share the BLOG my wife and I created showing the trip to pickup our Oliver Elite II - (Hull 505). We did the trip in early August 2019. The way the blog is setup you can click on the links at the top of the page to see either the "Trip to Hohenwald" ...or..."Jump to the trip home" (The pickup is on the first page of the "Trip Home" section. This should work on either a computer display...or a phone... I give this link to prospective buyers when they come visit to see our Oliver. Here's the link... https://4-ever-hitched.com/2 points

I just completed my changeover to a Nova Kool compressor fridge. The model I ended up with is a R5810. These photos show some of the major steps of the installation of the new refrigerator. Because the opening is a little bit too wide, I had to fabricate the four stainless brackets. They are epoxied in place and allow the fridge mounting screws to pull against the fiberglass cabinet front. The outside upper and lower vents are still removable and are sealed with closed cell foam. I used the outside access several times during the installation and can see a benefit to having outside access in the future for cleaning behind the fridge, etc. Because everything associated with the fridge is now inside the camper, it is 100 times easier to remove and replace. I disconnected the gas line outside under the camper and replaced the "T" fitting with a flair union. I plugged both ends of the gas line that runs up to the old fridge so that it'll stay clean for future use if needed. The last things that I have to fabricate are the upper and lower grills. I have 1/8 aluminum stock that I'll cut to size and mill slots in. I plan on painting these gloss white. When running the only noise (and it's very slight) are the fans I added to help remove the heat from the back of the fridge. So far the fridge has been running on battery power from the day I received the fridge now 14 days ago. There have been several cloudy days during this time and the batteries have come back to 100%. The only things running have been the fridge and the Maxxfan on auto mode. There have been temps in the camper of 95 degrees and the fridge has maintained 18-22 degrees in the freezer and 33-35 degrees in the fridge. Testing will continue with a few short trips before we head out to Quartzsite in December or January.1 point

A new Oliver owner asked if I could craft a platform providing additional sleeping area between their two twin bed configuration. The project got my curiosity going and would require a fair level of planning to do right so just the kind of thing I love. I had seen other owners do similar things by adding a board across the two bed risers that hold the mattresses in place but, I discovered from talking to Oliver that, these risers are not designed to take a great deal of downward pressure. The design I came to is strong yet, light weigh while transferred the weight load to the flood and not on to the raisers. Two legs pieces interlock into a thick center strut, provide weight distribution and “horns” on the top of the legs lock the top board and legs in place. This is a large platform - 50” in length by 18” in width and 18" in height, it needed to fold-down for storage, stainless steel hinges allow the center strut and top board to fold to a compact package - 25” x 18” x 6”. Spring loaded latches secure it together when in use. Space is always a premium in our trailers and leveraging the dinette seat cushions which, fit perfectly, meant an additional cushion was not a requirement. Note: depending the height of your mattresses the level of the platform can be made taller or shorter. We have 10" mattresses and the customer has 7". Complimenting the Oliver interior lead me to select cabinet grade oak plywood with a white mike paint finish to show off the wood grain and match the interior. Also a nod to Frank Lloyd Wright for overall design esthetics never hurts. If you're interested in more sleeping room for your twin bed configuration or have a pet that likes to sleep with you but just not enough room for Fido at your feet, message me, I’d be happy to craft you one too.1 point

We picked up out twin Legacy Elite II in 2017 and are really enjoying it but because I wish I had gotten the king bed. The factory tells me they charge $2800 to convert it. Has anyone done this themselves? I assume the factory takes out the nightstand which I like having but I don’t know. I would be interested in hearing if others have done their own conversion. We have the 8” mattresses so I suppose I would have to have a custom made middle section.1 point

I did something similar. The space between the twin beds is 18” X 51”. I cut three 19”X 17” rectangles from 3/4” ply wood to sit on the fiberglass frame. I cut a 1/8” X 1/2” lip so there is no movement, there’s 1/2” overhang on each side. A piece of high density 6” foam is level with the 8” mattresses. The three pieces of wood are small enough to store easily when not in use. We can also use one of the rectangles as a table between the beds when we’re in the twin bed mode and watching TV or reading. Mike1 point
