I remember being in San Angelo in 1960something and being one of about four people in town who had chains over an Easter weekend........made a small fortune...nobody else knew how to drive in snow and pulled a LOT of people out of the ditches n fields! You really gotta' worry about the OTHER guy Chuck

Keeping the pipes from freezing
tumbleweed replied to technomadia's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Both the tape and the Xtreme Heater are great ideas ! Now, its decisions, decisions..... Went through a couple of week long low 20 degree weather last year and early this year and was worried but the PhunnyPharm came thru with no damage but........ Part of pondering will include getting Honda 2000 mounted and if the Honda will/can handle the Xtreme heater. Tape shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for all the info, I think !!!!!!! -
W O W........Wonder about Mountainborns' ?? Hope to see ya'll after the wedding as we get on to about 15-20 k miles. Hopefully with some other Olivers maybe to Ft DeSoto which has become our favorite!!

Hi All and espescially Jam! Who did you get top put on your Extreme Vent?? Had two on my Casita and they worked great and easy to install on the single hull but took off vent on PhunnyPharm and with the double shell it didn't look like anything I wanted to attempt ! PhunnyPharm will get a real good wash n wax and the bumper buffed out for Christmas. 'Course we'll be up in Tallahassee before the Holidays so who knows ?? Chuck n Geri

Questions about the Monitor System
tumbleweed replied to angler's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Hi ya'll !! In a parked Oliver for over 5 months, we found that the moniters were actually pretty accurate but affected by high outside temps, ie: 100 degrees + and probably was because of expansion in the tanks . Early AM readings were 10-20% less than late afternoon with no use. Chuck -
When no RV anti freeze was available when I still had my Casita, cheap, very cheap vodka was used in shower trap and in both tanks but the Oliver is so well insulated that we didn't worry in the 20 degree weather we had in FL last year. left bathroom door open and a little electric heater going. But Wyoming winter?????? cold, very cold. RV antifreeze ONLY !!
-
Sorry to hear of ya'lls misfortune!! Which Maxaire vent ya got???? You have the shorter of the two, right?? We got the longer one and have had it on both Casitas also and never had a drop of water inside. May that be the only problem you have 'til we see ya'll again!!!! Then, we'll be the problem!!!!!!!! Chuck n Geri and all 3 critters
-
Thanks ya'll! Geri familiar with two and I've done parts of 4 and are beautiful!!

Hey Doug ! Which beach ya'll heading for?? We're still workamping in New Mexico on the banks of the Rio Grande at 4300'..90 degrees but the 20% humidity is real bearable and 60 degree nights are nice. Keep them 'skeeters fed n see ya'll in the fall. Chuck n Geri n critters
