  1. I've used about 8 inches of picture frame wire to wire my bumper pins to the bolt that the bumper rotates on to so I don't lose them. Keeps them from falling in the dirt and handy when closing the bumper and doesn't seem to interfere with opening or closing it. From a senior who forgets where he puts stuff.....
  2. If you don't have an amber bulb in your top outside light, a lens or amber bulb from attracting bugs. Have not investigated amber LED availibility for top or side bulbs. Chuck
  3. Looks cool to me!!! I'd sure be proud to have one!!!! Chuck
  4. Hi to all! Refillling your propane tanks at an independant propane dealer is the safest way to get good propane..exchange tanks is the least. Exchange is aimed at the weekend BBQer and not the RVer, or folks who depend on their propane to heat their homes, etc. The independent propane dealer must rely on permenent homes and businesses year round and don't take refinery 'deals' which may have water or a high % of butane. The weekend BBQer just gets a little mad at a flame out but RVers and household/business owners can get in serious trouble especially at altitude. And it is usually less $ to fuel at yr propane dealer as most charge a minimum and then by the lb. and you get your OWN tank back. JMHO Chuck
  5. Do I see 3 Olivers in the picture?????? If so, these groups of Olivers are getting bigger n bigger....see RVerII rally thread! Did you see Hot August Nites car show????? Been a few years but it used to a real blast...heavy 50s' theme. Regards to all from a gathering of 4 (four) Olivers!!! Chuck n Geri n the Phunny Pharm
  6. I do believe this constitutes the LARGEST gathering of Olivers outside the factory EVER! And maybe ever if, and Robert would have to confirm it, has there ever been 4 completed Olivers in the factory at ONE time????? hmmmmmmm this could be history in the making!!! Chuck n Geri n the Phunny Pharm
  7. Has anyone considered mounting the panels on the street side over the windows and raising them when camped?? Someone on either Casitaforum, CasitaClub or the FiberglassRVForum has done it on, I believe, a Casita on the back window. Just food for thought.......Chuck
  8. Finally!!!! A cool place for the FIRST ever official Oliver Rally!!! And Casitas thought they were the only ones!!!! Yahooooooooooooooo Chuck
  9. Hey DAWGZ!!!! We're going to factory then the Rver Rally then Crater of Diamonds SP, Ark, then back to Apalachicola for Drs app't in Dade City (Withlacoochee Park)then off to CA for Lake Casitas Rally via AZ. Join us somewhere?????? 4 Olivers at RVer Rally would be great!! Chuck n Geri
  10. Hi Robert, Knowing how busy you are, your dropping the forum as a duty is not surprising. I, like many others, deeply appreciate your "getting the ball rolling". Knowing you were in the background watching for inaccurate posts was a help but now anyone wanting ADVISE can come here to the forum and facts about THEIR particular Oliver can go to the factory. Our Olivers are all so custom (are any 2 alike?) that many questions pertain to only 1 trailer. So specific questions should go to the factory and general questions to the forum. Again, many thanks for all your help and the next steak at the "Junkyard" is on us!!! Chuck
  11. DougI, Starting a new topic would be the way to get your question answered if anyone else was interested. Bursting in on an ongoing topic is very impolite, sir and is not tolerated on any forums that I am on. Chuck
  12. DougI This topic is about table pedestals. If you have an issue with someone, could you please take to PMs? Thank you, Chuck
  13. We're waiting for you two and Pete and the Cavanaughs to arrive at Crystal River!!!
  14. Does Bourbon and water count as a water sport?????? Chuck
  15. Well, I guess it's time for my 2 cents. Having had Casitas for several years, I think I can make justifications for the extra $$$. The Oliver as previously listed as standard has MORE features than the Casita. The doublewalled construction, better bathroom design, enclosed and larger water/grey and black water tanks, no hanging plumbing, innovative water and sewer connections, sprung suspension for easier towing, adjustable tongue, ALL aluminum frame, drawers and lined cubby storage, choice of MANY fabrics, floorings and cabinet SLIDING overhead doors, LED running & brake lights with 3rd brake light and then the option of many, many options that are not available at any $ from the competition. JMHO but loving our OLIVER Legacy Elite! Chuck
  16. I would think (not a good idea for me sometimes) that multiple applications of "Lizard Skin" would raise the R Factor. Could it be applied to water/grey/black water tanks and plumbing?? Interesting questions I hope! Love mine, been down to 20 degrees and don't wanna' go NO colder!! Chuck
  17. I hope they stay with the factory direct sales as it is now! I do not think a dealer network would, in the long run, be beneficial to the factory OR it's customers. The Oliver customization process cannot, IMHO, be succesfully fulfilled. Chuck
  18. Hi Scott! Very nice Boler. I sure you're sorry you had to let it go. I try to attend as many fiberglass rallies as I can and want to introduce Geri into the fold. Have had a few stickies attend the rallies, usually like you, ex fiberglassers and all have missed their eggs! Hope to see on the road, Chuck
  19. double ditto on the Prodigy!!! Plug n play on my Silverado. Chuck
  20. Molded fiberglass trailers seem to last and last with minimal care. Go to the Molded Fiberglas RV site and you will see many lovingly restored fiberglass eggs of all makes, models and years! At most fiberglass trailer rallies I've attended, there is normally an "open house" time for folks to show off their restorations or modifications or the latest model. I've also noticed that friendlier and more knowledgeable people own fiberglass trailers and are more willing to share ideas. JMHO, Chuck
  21. Hi DougI, The awning used on the Oliver has been around for awhile and is really well made and easy to use. Marketed by Fiamma and Horizon, it should be gotten from and installed by Oliver. I bought a used Casita without an awning and the only 'local' who would touch the installation was Camping World and buying and having them install it was much more than the factory installation! Regards, Chuck
  22. Hi CarolAnn, The $$ are being adjusted from a recent conversation I had with Robert Partee. The 17,500 price is for the standard and the Elite starts in the 25,000 area I believe. Please check with the factory for accurate #s withe the options YOU desire. I do not believe that there is any 'cookie cutter' price as there are probably not 2 Olivers configured the same as they really are a semicustom. Folks on other forums throw around all kind of $$$, the FACTORY is the only source of accurate $$ equipped the way YOU want it! Petes is a good example, he has 2 major options, the solar and the cell phone amplifier!! Regards, Chuck
  23. I can see the reason for confusion, I think. The standard model starts at the lower $ and then options are added as desired. Unlike most of the smaller travel trailers, there is a list of options as long as your arm! You can pretty well customize them any FEASIBLE way you want to!. The more options, the higher the $$ ! Contacting the factory will clear this up. Chuck
  24. Hi DougI !!! And welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase! So many options have been made standard, I have a hard time keeping up BUT the double pane windows are a "gotta' have". I,ve had a single shell w/single pane windows in my Casita and the Oliver has been in much colder weather and stayed much warmer, easier! By the same token, the A/C doesn't have to work as hard so the 9200 btu A/C is doable making generator usage easier. You have picked other good options with the solar ready and propane tee. Suggest a gen ready kit also. Alum spare will save a little weight. I discussed a sewer ext to hookup a 'Sewer Solution' vs the 'stinky slinky' with Daniel and I will be emailing pics to him when I get mine done. Bugeye didn't mention his great cell phone amplifier built in between his top shells! He'll explain it to you now that I've pointed out that he FORGOT to mention it!! He's getting so short time to his retirement that it's all he can think about!!! Looking forward to meeting you down the road, Chuck
