  1. So I drove a couple vehicles this weekend to tow my LEI on order. I was really impressed with the RAM drive and interior. I have never owned a FCA product. For those towing with 2019 or newer RAM 1500 any issues ? Would you buy it again? TIA
  2. My plan next summer after I get my Ollie is to head to cooler weather when I can. If I can sneak 4-6 weeks away from Texas summer I will be thrilled ! In the fall and winter I hope to do shorter extended weekend trips in Texas and OK. I generally find folks at campsites more considerate vs a hotel. Can’t recall a time really being bothered by fellow campers but have countless examples of kids and adults screaming down hotel hallways at all hours. I am good with nature and long as I have screened in place like TT to sleep.
  3. So renting a class B this summer confirmed my decision to go with a TT. It was very easy to drive, park and hookup. It was so loud in the van while driving due to items shaking. I also didn’t care for layout limitations with cab in the living area. Personal preference but renting helped to solidify direction I wanted to go. Good luck.
  4. Thanks for sharing story. I am in the DFW area and will be getting a TV later this year. Think I am down to 2021 F-150 or RAM 1500. I have started looking and when I start asking some guys about payload and weight ratings they look confused. Buyer beware is my approach as they just want to move the truck.
  5. So I am in line to get my Elite I next spring and am looking at TV options. My current daily driver is going to my son as planned who is getting his DL at the end of the year. Here are the TVs I am currently considering. Based on Elite I and vehicle specs all should work. F-150 RAM 1500 Expedition Q7 I was pleasantly surprised at the payload on the Expedition once the sales guy knew what I was talking about and why I was asking to see sticker in door frame! It is about the same as F-150 trims I am considering with both just over 1500 lbs . I will be curious to see if 21 F-150 payload changes much. RAM has a really cool feature where you can input a VIN into website and it spits out towing specs including payload. I compared to truck I saw in person and it matches the door sticker, pretty cool. The RAM trims have a bit less payload in the 1300 lbs range. I think Q7 is about the same in 1300 range. I did see a couple folks who do or did tow with Expedition. Did you have regular or extended model ? The SUVs appeal as both will fit into garage. The F-150 will for hail emergencies but a tight fit due to length and same for RAM. Thoughts ? Any others to consider? I looked at the GMC Sierra. They are very nice just prefer RAM or Ford if going pickup route.
  6. Thanks for sharing. One of options I am really on the fence is the counter upgrade. I really like the white counters. I am also partial to your Texas flag!
  7. Congrats John. I hope all works out for your pickup! I am in line for a May delivery. As a single traveler as well I am curious what led you to Elite II over Elite I ? Thanks.
  8. Congratulations! I have to wait for May for my Elite I. I will be getting my TV this year as son gets current one. Was considering diesel on 150/1500 truck but not sure if I want payload trade off. What is maintenance like on them?
  9. Thanks. I am very familiar with Frisco. I live there for over 15 years. I am now in Allen which is east and a bit south. My folks are just down road from you in Boerne and I have family in San Antonio.
  10. Congrats! Be curious to hear what options you decide to get. I was thinking about Tab 400 before deciding I wanted fiberglass.
  11. Signed up for a May delivery slot today for LE1. Looking forward to the design and build process. I appreciate all the feedback on my prior thread! Oliver needs to hire the YouTubers who put out the 90 minute factory tour. What a great video. I don’t even own one yet and I’ve been through all the how to videos on Oliver YouTube channel! I live north of Dallas in the suburbs and will be mainly traveling with my 35lbs english cocker spaniel. The post COVID world has created a much more virtual work environment for me so planning to get out a few weeks at a time and then much more once retirement rolls around!
  12. I appreciate all the comments. I live in the Dallas area so actually went down to Casita factory this weekend since it is so close. It was helpful to get a feel for size of 17ft trailer and see outside of a fiberglass trailer. Cozy yes but doable for one plus a dog. I can’t get past the carpet on ceiling/walls and the interior just isn’t me. Way too much wood and just can’t think carpet doesn’t get dirty. Feature wise just way less which isn’t surprising given price point. i noticed Oliver has no vent hood over cooktop like some others. I would think overhead Maxxfan would be sufficient to vent when cooking? Any issues cooking inside the Oliver? I prefer to cook outside if weather is good. Thanks.
  13. Thanks for the reply John. I am looking at F-150 or RAM 1500 with max towing packages right now. I am in a good spot as my current daily driver will go to my son soon as planned and I definitely want to get back into a truck. I could go up to 250/2500 but would really prefer 150/1500 as my daily driver. 150/1500 can handle towing weight just need to decide how much payload I want to have to for tongue weight, cargo and passengers.
  14. So I am looking at fiberglass trailers and go back and forth on best Oliver model for me. Will manly be myself and 40 lb dog. Occasionally may have guest which single dinette can handle. I like the smaller size of Elite and feels like it would be enough. Down the road once I retire the bigger model may make sense if I spent more time on road. So those with Elite do you wish you got Elite II? Any owners look at Escape and if so why did you choose Oliver? TIA
