  1. We spent Thanksgiving at the Oregon coast at Sunset Bay State Park near Coos Bay. The total mileage for the trip was 450 miles. I wanted to report back on the performance of the new hitch. The Curt hitch was phenomenal. I was able to level the trailer easily and it towed remarkably well. The hitch resolved all the problems I had with the Gen-Y Glyder hitch. My confidence in the performance of this hitch was far superior to the Gen-Y hitch. I'm sure the Gen-Y hitch is a great hitch, it just did not work for my application.
  2. Oh man, it is everything we hoped for. It’s the perfect size for the two of us. The size allows us to go almost everywhere. So easy to pull and the Gladiator does a great job. The long trip home gave us both great experience with the Jeep and the trailer. My wife handles the trailer like a pro. The sizes does not intimidate her at all. I am surprised and pleased how well she does backing it into a tough site! She’ll be able to solo with “Lil’ tow” any time she wants. I'm also impressed with how well the Gladiator does pulling the trailer. I’m not going to win any speed records but it is very capable. Since I only get about 18-19 mpg on the highway I was very pleased to get 13.7 mpg as the towing average coming home. All in all, I couldn’t be happier. I have already started our vacation plan for 2022. Out next trip is just a couple of weeks away. When the ski areas finally open, I will get good experience pulling it in the snow. So much fun to look forward to!!! Carl
  3. We recently returned home (3,500+ miles) from Hohenwald. We did not come straight home 🙂. I pulled the LE1 Ollie home with the Glyder hitch. For the most part it worked OK. We could not get the trailer level at the Oliver factory using that hitch. It’s important to note that our TV is a Jeep Gladiator. We finally settled on the trailer being somewhat “nose-up”. I needed to be able to lower the hitch ball at least another 3”. There is another adapter that Gen-Y sells but that would the make alignment worse. In this configuration, the hitch had a tendency to lift the tongue of the trail up when backing or during more sudden stops. By design the hitch raises up when the tongue weight drops. When backing the trailer into a site, the tongue would lift up and we had to make sure and pull forward slightly to make sure the hitch was in its lower position with the full tongue weight on the hitch otherwise the trailer would slightly shift positions then raising the tongue off the hitch when disconnecting. It gave us quite a start the first time it happened. It bothered me enough that I switched to the CURT 45949 Rebellion XD Adjustable Cushion Hitch Ball Mount 2-Inch Receiver when I got home. With 15,000 lbs of tow capacity and 1500 lbs tongue weight, and a 6-Inch adjustable drop. This hitch allows me to really dial in the trailer perfectly level. The new hitch pulls very well without the problems mention above. 4. Congratulations!!! We take delivery in 9 days! I didn’t think delivery would ever come. We ordered last February. I spent a great deal of time going through Oliver University. I highly recommend it if you haven’t already. As you already know, this forum is the best. The people on this forum really go the extra mile and help however they can. Congratulations again and enjoy the process. Carl
  5. Our thoughts and prayers are with them both.
  6. How do you “wake” them up? Tap on them?
  7. Question: I purchased the TST 4 sensor unit for our LE I we pick up later this month. Does the rotation of the tires activate the sensors? If so, can you get an accurate pressure and temperature on the spares (truck and trailer) if those tire don’t rotate? I would appreciate any feedback so I can set my expectations correctly. Thanks! Carl
  8. I have a question about the black tank rinse design. Do the rinse lines to the black tank have any kind of sprayer on the line to help clean the black tank or are they just open water lines into the tank? The reason I ask is if there is a sprayer on the ends of the rinse lines, are they not susceptible to clogging without the rinse line being filtered? I would be concerned about plugging up the line with hair or other particles in the grey water. I very much am interested in implementing such a solution on #924 when we take delivery later in October. I’m not familiar with how the black tank rinse systems are designed or work. Carl
  9. Thanks for this suggestion. I have tried it several times. I have much better luck finding what I need using this advance search engine.
  10. This is the best forum that I have ever the pleasure of being a member of! Great people, excellent advice!!!
  11. “The Cradlepoint is a new option so you should ask your salesperson.” I checked with my sales person and he responded that this option was not available for my production spot. Carl
  12. I am having the cell and Wi-Fi booster installed. Is that the same as the cradlepoint system?
  13. Not that I am counting but delivery on #924 is 4 weeks from today! I am very new to home automation and security equipment technology but I thought I would see if anyone in the forum has some suggestions and advice... I am interested in using two security cameras. One mounted next to the door to monitor the outside and a second mounted on the front of the trailer to monitor my tow vehicle in the evening. I am considering something like the eufy camera system. https://www.amazon.com/eufy-Security-Compatibility-Resolution-Weatherproof-dp-B08922VDK3/dp/B08922VDK3/ref=dp_ob_title_ce I don't know if this is possible because: 1. The base station requires 110 ac. This is not a problem when we are connected to shore power. I guess I could use the inverter to provide 110 when we are dry camping. 2. Mounting the cameras to the trailer might be a challenge. I do not want to drill into the hull to mount the cameras. I would assume that maybe command strips or something like that might do the trick to mount the magnetic base to the hull. Other thoughts? 3. As I look at the various wireless systems, they all seem to use wifi to connect to a base station that would live inside the trailer. How do I create a "wifi" in the Oliver that would provide a wifi connection for these cameras? Do I need to use my cell phone as a hotspot? I am sure there are many others smarter than I that have considered solutions to home security on the road. Any thoughts? Carl
  14. Thanks for your response. A foam topper is our plan as well.
  15. We are picking up #924 in 5 weeks. My wife is making a cover for the mattress in the bed configuration. Does anyone have the measurements for the mattress? She would also like the corner radius measurements if that is possible. Thanks!
  16. We're picking up #924 in less than 6 weeks. We would love to hear about your experience and see your pictures. We will live vicariously through your reports until we can get our own first-hand experience! Carl
  17. Thanks for that information! It’s great to have a paper copy. Sometimes for me I still enjoy reading from a real book! Carl
  18. Oliver university has been an excellent tool. I have seen all the videos but I’m going through them again. What a great resource. Question… Do they give you a paper copy of the owners manual or do we only have access to the online manuals? How about licensing… do they provide a temporary license for the trailer or do you need to arrange that before you take delivery? Thanks!
  19. That's good news. We try to only eat two meals a day when we travel. We tend to have a late breakfast or "brunch" and then dinner. Keeping busy each day with activities will keep us away from the fridge and the snacks, ...at least that is the plan. So far so good.
  20. We just learned today that our "Lil' Tow" will be hull# 924. Delivery is in about 6 weeks. Ordered in February. It has been a long time coming but delivery is now in sight. The patience and anticipation is now turning to true excitement, ...along with some anxiety. This will open a whole new chapter in our lives but we are looking forward to transition from car camping to more comfortable travel experiences seeing all the beauty this country of ours has to offer. We hope to see many of you out there on the road. Carl
  21. As long as the weather cooperates, we do a good deal of cycling for cardio. We will bring our mountain bikes along with us when we travel. We do more work on road bikes here where we know the roads well but our mountain bikes will give us the ability to go off-road as well. I like the suggestions about resistance tubes. I am not familiar with them and will have to look more into that. Body weight exercises is also a great suggestion. We also have the Apple One subscription so we have access to Fitness +. We will try some of the exercises there as well to see if that is a good resource. We are both concerned about maintaining out fitness when away from home. There are so many hours driving in the car and the temptation not to eat well. Carl
  22. What exercise routines do you follow while you travel? Do you take any specific exercise equipment with you?
