Not that I am counting but delivery on #924 is 4 weeks from today! I am very new to home automation and security equipment technology but I thought I would see if anyone in the forum has some suggestions and advice... I am interested in using two security cameras. One mounted next to the door to monitor the outside and a second mounted on the front of the trailer to monitor my tow vehicle in the evening. I am considering something like the eufy camera system. https://www.amazon.com/eufy-Security-Compatibility-Resolution-Weatherproof-dp-B08922VDK3/dp/B08922VDK3/ref=dp_ob_title_ce I don't know if this is possible because: 1. The base station requires 110 ac. This is not a problem when we are connected to shore power. I guess I could use the inverter to provide 110 when we are dry camping. 2. Mounting the cameras to the trailer might be a challenge. I do not want to drill into the hull to mount the cameras. I would assume that maybe command strips or something like that might do the trick to mount the magnetic base to the hull. Other thoughts? 3. As I look at the various wireless systems, they all seem to use wifi to connect to a base station that would live inside the trailer. How do I create a "wifi" in the Oliver that would provide a wifi connection for these cameras? Do I need to use my cell phone as a hotspot? I am sure there are many others smarter than I that have considered solutions to home security on the road. Any thoughts? Carl

Legacy Elite I Mattress Measurements
Carl Hansen replied to Carl Hansen's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for your response. A foam topper is our plan as well. -
We are picking up #924 in 5 weeks. My wife is making a cover for the mattress in the bed configuration. Does anyone have the measurements for the mattress? She would also like the corner radius measurements if that is possible. Thanks!

It’s official! Just picked up Hull 888 today!
Carl Hansen replied to Steve and Mary's topic in Introduce Yourself
We're picking up #924 in less than 6 weeks. We would love to hear about your experience and see your pictures. We will live vicariously through your reports until we can get our own first-hand experience! Carl -

Congratulations!!! Many happy trails!!! -
Thanks for that information! It’s great to have a paper copy. Sometimes for me I still enjoy reading from a real book! Carl

Oliver university has been an excellent tool. I have seen all the videos but I’m going through them again. What a great resource. Question… Do they give you a paper copy of the owners manual or do we only have access to the online manuals? How about licensing… do they provide a temporary license for the trailer or do you need to arrange that before you take delivery? Thanks!

That's good news. We try to only eat two meals a day when we travel. We tend to have a late breakfast or "brunch" and then dinner. Keeping busy each day with activities will keep us away from the fridge and the snacks, ...at least that is the plan. So far so good.

We just learned today that our "Lil' Tow" will be hull# 924. Delivery is in about 6 weeks. Ordered in February. It has been a long time coming but delivery is now in sight. The patience and anticipation is now turning to true excitement, ...along with some anxiety. This will open a whole new chapter in our lives but we are looking forward to transition from car camping to more comfortable travel experiences seeing all the beauty this country of ours has to offer. We hope to see many of you out there on the road. Carl

As long as the weather cooperates, we do a good deal of cycling for cardio. We will bring our mountain bikes along with us when we travel. We do more work on road bikes here where we know the roads well but our mountain bikes will give us the ability to go off-road as well. I like the suggestions about resistance tubes. I am not familiar with them and will have to look more into that. Body weight exercises is also a great suggestion. We also have the Apple One subscription so we have access to Fitness +. We will try some of the exercises there as well to see if that is a good resource. We are both concerned about maintaining out fitness when away from home. There are so many hours driving in the car and the temptation not to eat well. Carl

What exercise routines do you follow while you travel? Do you take any specific exercise equipment with you?

Thanks! I’m glad I did not order the pads!

Does Oliver use the same stabilizer jack on the LE I? We pick up our LE I in October. Is the tongue jack also the same size? Will a SnapPad also fit the tongue jack? These SnapPads seem to fit the Anderson jack blocks perfectly. Thanks! Carl

Hi Oliver family, signed sales order today!
Carl Hansen replied to Vic and Wanda Shumate's topic in Introduce Yourself
Congratulations and welcome to the forum. This is a very informative forum and the people here are great and very helpful. We ordered our Oliver in February and pick up in late October. The anticipation and planning are half the fun, but I can't wait for our first few adventures in our new trailer. Please share your experience with the rest of us. -
Primarily the former… maintained gravel and forest roads with some washboard and potholes, to get back to distributed camping sites. We are taking delivery on an LE1., “L’il Tow”. I do want to take it off-road but certainly don’t want to trash it. 🙂 Slow and careful.

Does taking an Oliver off-road have any impact on the warranty? We take delivery in October and I would like to take our trailer off-road.

I too would be very interested in a West Rally. We don't pick up "L'il Tow" (Oliver LE1) until October 21st. If there is interest in a West Rally next year, I think we should start planning now. There are several places in Oregon (where I live) that can accommodate such an event: Beverly Beach Bullards Beach Fort Stevens https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&parkId=129 LaPine South Beach Sunset Bay Valley of the Rogue To get an event discount, we must have at least 20 sites reserved. Other suggestions welcome. Beach or mountains? What time of the year? How many days? Activities? Thoughts anyone? Carl

Thanks for making this list. I started making my own but this one is far superior! Much appreciated! Carl

Perfect and thank you! This is a great help!!! I will pass along the numbers. This forum has such great people here!!! Carl

This is a great idea. I’ll be sure to share this with my wife.

We will be picking up our LEI in October and my wife would like to order a floor runner (carpet) for the main floor walkway. Does anyone know the LEI floor dimensions we can use for shopping for a floor runner? If you use one in your trailer, what are the pros and cons of a floor runner? Thanks as always for your help! New Owners from SC Joining the Oliver Family
Carl Hansen replied to SC Lakers's topic in Introduce Yourself
Welcome to the family. We pick up or Oliver LE in Late October. Hope to see you on the road out there! -
Not knowing the answer to this question would it be polite or appropriate to get out and be an extra set of eyes helping be an additional spotter or would that not be helpful?

I just heard back from customer support about securing the safety chains. Here is their response: “Hi Carl, Thank you for reaching out. The first generation Model 2178-B did secure the hooks inside the lock, as shown in the demo video. However, Over time, we were made aware of a vulnerability that occurred if the hooks were too small or left out of the lock. Because there was too much space left open inside the lock with small hooks or no hooks, the coupler was simply able to be unlatched and the lock would come right off. In order to relieve this vulnerability, we had to shrink up the tube of the lock and remove the safety hook feature. At this time, we do not have any other lock that will fit the bulldog (arrow nose) coupler and secure the safety hooks. We do apologize for the inconvenience.“ They also indicated in a separate message that the lock does come with a second key. Carl
