Thanks for the heads up. I sent them a message yesterday about a second key.
-
I have a text into them but I am sure I will get the same response. I did order the Medco cylinder. I will need to make sure I get a spare ordered. Thanks!
-
OK, thank makes more sense!

Well now I'm confused... When ordering this lock, I just read this... "Trailer coupler lock model 2178-B may not fit all trailer couplers. Please look at trailer coupler lock index pictures below, if you do not see your trailer coupler picture please fill out contact form to ensure you will get the correct trailer coupler lock. This style will NOT allow you to secure safety chains in lock." Maybe I should contact the company. Carl

I found this video for the bulldog coupler and it shows the safety chains can be secured in the lock. Am I missing something? Maybe the hooks on your chains are a different size? I don't have my Ollie yet but I am planning on ordering this lock. Securing the safety chains would be a great benefit. Carl

Thank you. That is a great use model to follow. Carl
-
Yes it does! Thank you! Carl

Has anyone used the proven industries wheel boot? Or is that overkill with the proven hitch lock? Carl
-
Do you have a picture of how this collar lock works? I don’t have my Ollie I yet and would love to see a picture. I plan on using the proven lock and a collar lock but I am undecided on the collar lock. Carl

pictures of various storage cubbies elite
Carl Hansen replied to Moonlight Mile's topic in General Discussion
I would second the idea of having a separate section for Elite I trailers to address their unique requirements. There are many topics that apply to both but when it comes to storage, packing, towing, etc, there are some unique differences. This would make those who own (or will own) an Elite I a great resource for them. I would also be very valuable for Oliver to create a dimensions document for the Elite I like they have for the Elite II. Thanks for considering this! Carl -
Welcome to the family. I too am awaiting a delivery in October. Just in time for next year's ski season. I highly recommend the Oliver University web page with all of its great content. Of course the experience and expertise in this forum is second to none. What an amazing Oliver family you will find here in these postings. Starting camping with a young family is the way to go. Some of our fondest family memories are our camping and skiing adventures together. Several years ago we de-emphasized all the Christmas presents for a ski vacation. The family was much happier with the ski vacations rather than a bunch of gifts they don't remember from one year to the next. Discussing our skiing and camping adventures is always a fun time together. All of our children and now grandchildren (who are old enough to enjoy the sport [that's 6/10]) now also ski/snowboard. This is one of our main motivations for a 4-season trailer. Most of the Pacific Northwest ski resorts reserve a portion of their parking for motorhomes and trailers. This makes it so convenient for Mom's with children to take hot chocolate breaks, lunches, and necessary naps. Parents and grandparent can also take turns skiing with their children / grandchildren who ski while the other tends the non-skiers. Spending the night there also ensures that we get an appropriate start to the next day with good night sleep and a good hot breakfast. With our delivery, we will have three trailers in the family. I took a long time researching trailers, and like yourself, found that Oliver trailers are of the highest quality and reputation. We hope to meet you on the road! Carl

This is all great feedback! Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience and thoughts! I have also wondered about a cash donation as an acceptable gratuity. Has anyone ever used a cash donation? Is that considered an appropriate alternative to purchasing HH goods?

Greetings! I need your guidance and suggestions. We would like to join Harvest Host this fall when we take delivery on our Elite I. We love the idea and concept of HH and would love to support their businesses by purchasing their goods and services. It appears that many, if not the good majority, of the hosts are wineries. It looks like they are have beautiful and desirable settings perfect for an overnight stay. Our problem is that we do not consume alcohol. Do most wineries have other goods or services we can support for our stay? Are there other appropriate ways to show our gratitude and appreciation for our stay? What are your thoughts, experience and suggestions? Carl

I believe I am watching the same clock. I have an October delivery as well! What was the objective of your visit, other than to see the quality manufacturing? I live in Oregon, and am trying to decide if I should go visit the factory before our delivery date in October. It is quite a distance for me. I would love to go but have not come up with the justification for the trip. There will be a factory tour before you take delivery, right? Is there any benefit on going early? Did it help with some of your configuration decisions? I would be interested in your thoughts. Carl

I second the ROK Straps! They are amazing. I have used them on my motorcycle for years to secure my touring loads. When I sold the motorcycle, I kept the ROK Straps. Carl

Congratulations you two! I too am waiting for my October delivery. I am sure the Ollie will be worth the wait. Keep us posted on your preparation and delivery. Do you have any trips planned for the new rig? May seems to be the perfect time for delivery since it is the beginning of the travel season. I have never been to Connecticut but I sure want to travel to the NE for the fall colors some year soon! The people on this forum are great. I learn something new everytime I check in. Have fun! Carl

These interest me. You can use your power drill to set these in the ground, and to retract them. https://www.amazon.com/Adventure-Seeka-Outdoor-Threaded-Stakes/dp/B07RXMVM8M/ref=asc_df_B07RXMVM8M/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=385197825271&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12173547767707272533&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032898&hvtargid=pla-843618643122&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=81331770711&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=385197825271&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12173547767707272533&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032898&hvtargid=pla-843618643122

This is the torsion hitch I will use to tow the Ollie I. GenY has a great reputation in the industry for producing excellent products. I have been using this hitch with my 14’ enclosed trailer I use to tow our street motorcycles and camping gear. It really does smooth out the ride. I can’t wait to see how it works with the “shorty”. Here is a link to the product website. https://genyhitch.com/product/the-glyder-torsion-flex-hitch/?gclid=CjwKCAiAkJKCBhAyEiwAKQBCkvLZgT5zOEl0s3GV1gKd3TUU-p6JYiwPKLcPCiNXy1MMqhopCzcekBoCBm8QAvD_BwE Is anyone else using this hitch? If so what has been your experience? I've loved it so far. I’ve attached a couple of pics of my hitch below. Carl

I will ask the question! Thanks!

Thanks for all the feedback!!! I probably will stay with the standard antenna. We don’t watch that much network tv. We currently stream much of our content. We will probably stay with that model.
-
Can anyone comment on the performance of the Omni-directional antenna? It seems a bit pricey but is it worth it? Please share you experience with this antenna. Thanks!
-
Greetings! Newbie question here: Does the Oliver Elite I come with a basic television/radio antenna or do I need to add something to my configuration to get basic reception? I don't see anything in the "Entertainment Features" section about an antenna. Do I need to add the Omni-Directional Antenna to get any reception? Thanks! Carl

1.25" Rear Bumper Accessory Receiver

I appreciate everyone who has chimed in here. I believe for now I will still include the receiver in my build configuration but many of your comments have given me some food for thought! Carl
