We stayed at Indiana Dunes NP and really enjoyed our stay. The state park was nice too.

We’ve only stayed at one Vermont State Park, Grand Isle on Lake Champlain. It had no hook ups but there were a couple of state parks on the lake that had W/E. We usually stay in public campgrounds, COE, USFS, state and National parks, etc. when the location is what we want. We prefer to have utilities, but some locations just don’t allow. Some of our best campsites have been on National Parks with no hook ups at all (Joshua Tree, Glacier, Grand Teton, Zion, Organ Pipe Cactus, Black Canyon, Great Sand Dunes to name a few). Yes, we did. There were bison, lots of bison walking through our campsite! It was a great experience. I still use Ultimate Public Campground app (even though it isn’t supported any longer) first to see if there are any public campgrounds that fit our traveling objectives. Mike

Our site at Piñon Flats fit our trailer fine. There was a 25’ Airstream two sites away.

Yes, mine looked very similar to Bryan’s. I replaced them in the same manner and all is well. Mike

It’s your trailer and nothing is off limits! Unscrew those port holes and check out what’s behind them. Lift the basement covers under the mattresses and check out what is there. If you are out in the middle of nowhere it’s good to know everything you can about your trusty Oliver. Mike

Bryan, as I recall I just used traditional tools. With the tray empty and pulled out it was not difficult to access. Mike

I was pumping diesel into my truck at a random gas station in the New Mexico desert north of Albequerque when I hear “Hey Mike”. I turned and saw this biker dude with his biker babe on the other side of my truck. Obviously, my deer-in-the-headlights look sparked the biker dude to say, “It’s Art Flynn!” With the helmet, shades and new-since-the-rally beard it took me a second to focus! He had seen me pull in while going in the opposite direction and turned around to say hi. We had a nice chat. Thanks Art and Diane for the making short detour to say hi and welcome us into your home state! Mike

In my 2016 the check valve is is in the basement against the back of the trailer.

Mine are fine. We’ve put about 5,000 miles on the ALCANS and all is well! Mike

We’ve heard both are great places to camp. You need to make reservations early, we were never able to get in even checking availability weeks in advance. Goblin State Park is another popular park, we tried there, too and it was full.

Seems like it would be easiest to just turn the PD charger off. Mine is off most of the time, solar charging has been enough in most cases.

We have stayed at Dead Horse SP a number of times and agree that it provides good access to all the local sites to see. Sedona is an easy drive. We camped on Zion for a week. If you are there over a weekend I recommend you stay on the park. Traffic getting into the park on the weekend was ridiculous, backed up for miles. We were there in Janyary and in the off season you can drive anywhere on the park that is open. During the high season you have to take a bus to most sites. Not sure what off season dates are. There’s a nice USFS campground near Bryce, Red Canyon campground. No reservations. We arrived around noon and had a choice of campsites, all pretty nice. No hookups but a very well maintained campground with great views. There’s a nice BLM campground in between Canyonlands and Arches, Horsethief CG. It’s closer to Canyonlands but easy access to Moab and Arches too. Good luck! Mike

When we pulled the wires from the axle there were wear spots in the middle of the wires too in several places. Mine are now zip tied to the outside of the axle. I had service check when they replaced my brakes in May and they left the wires on the outside. Mike

We spent last week at Ridgway State Park, just 20 minutes north of Ouray. We drove up from our son’s house in Durango but didn’t take 550 this time. We took the western route which is about 40 minutes longer but provides with some different scenery. It takes you by Telluride. It was a nice drive. This is just a few miles outside of Telluride on the way to Ridgway. Another stop on the way up to Ridgway. Our site at Ridgway State Park We did a walk around the town of Ridgway. This is the town park in the middle of town. Downtown Ouray. Downtown Ouray. Hiking around the Ridgway Reservoir. Nice hike, good views. More hiking.
