  1. God willing we will be at F56 on the 29th. We also will be going birding a few mornings for anyone who wants to join us just look us up.
  2. I didn't it just sits on the lip where the table would sits if it were used as a bed. The back is tapered to ft the angle of the wall. I covered the back with felt so the wood doesn't rub against against the wall. It's a work in progress so I will see how it works on a long trip. We are heading to Guntersville 1,000 + miles so that will be a good test. If it moves around too much I will put a couple of rare earth magnets on the back and stick it to the wall. I can take more pictures if your interested . Bill
  3. I quickly threw together a little shelf for travel books and maps that fits under the dinette table. I didn't put a whole lot of thought or effort into it. I just made it out of scrap wood as a prototype, but it seems to work better than I thought it would. Im sure its been done before but I thought I would mention it. IMG_0248.HEIC
  4. We are in F56 please introduce yourself we should be there. My Wife and I chased a Northern Lapwing in Jamestown RI this past Saturday and we got it ,Life'er!! But we missed the Tundra Bean-Goose 😿 We must have looked at 3,000+ Geese and ducks in the wind and cold for hours but no luck. Hope to see you in April. BIll
  5. Steve we are in site # F56 we will keep an eye out for you. We should have an extra pair of binoculars and our spotting scope with us. Hope to see you in April Bill and Nancy
  6. This would be a very informal bird walk around the camp ground. Nancy and I have owned The bird store and more in MA (www.thebirdstoreandmore.com ) for over 30 years and have been leading bird walk in new england for longer than that. Now that we are semi retired and Dezeree has taken over our business we are starting to travel. But we still like to bird so with that said we will be birding around the country looking for birds we haven’t seen. So If any one is interested look us up and you are welcome to join us before breakfast if you want to tag along to see what we can find. Hope to see you at the rally. Bill and Nancy Cormier
  7. Does anyone know where to find an event calendar for the 2025 rally? Nancy my Wife and I plan on attending the rally in April and are wondering if anyone would like to join us for a bird walk one or two of the mornings. We attended the rally in Maine back in 2023 and led a couple of beginner bird walks and they were a big hit. We were asked to do it again this year but we are planing to attend the 2025 rally this year. If anyone is interested let me know and maybe we can have the walks listed on the schedule of events, if there is one. The other option is to contact us directly and we can pencil something in. The birds should be in peak spring migration so the birding should be great. God willing we plan to arrive on April 29th and stay through the 2nd of May on site #F56. However there is one glitch. I was summoned to Grand Jury duty for 3 days a week for 3 months starting April 7th. I was told because I am self employed, I can get out of it for financial hardship but I need to appear in court on April 7th and tell it to the judge as they say. Wish me luck Bill
  8. We have a set of brand new still in the plastic mattresses for the twin bed side by side floor plan. When we purchased our trailer we purchased two of the thicker mattresses from southern mattress and installed them before we took delivery of our trailer. So they have been sitting in our spare room ever since and its time to do something with them. We plan to be at the rally in April and we will haul them down with us if someone is interested. I would like to get $100.00 for the two of them, but feel free to make me an offer. They are doing no one any good sitting in my spare room. Bill

  9. It looks like this thread was started in 2023 but I will put in my two bits. I know people disagree with me but we tow with a 2022 diesel GMC canyon. it has a tow capacity of 7700 pounds. I have loaded the truck and trailer many different ways and have taken it to the cat scales more than you care to know. Ive come close to maxing out the trucks GVW but was still under by 400 lbs. Thats including full fuel me my wife 2 kayaks, tent, 5 gallons extra water a full cooler of ice and food, cooking stove, fire pit,IMG_3990.HEIC one e bike and a regular bike. The trailer weighs in at about 5,600. The truck has no problem towing as far as power and so far braking hasn't been an issue. If I had a bigger garage I might consider a bigger truck but so far we have been very happy. Good luck Bill and Nancy
  10. we have a 2022 with Dometic heat and we have camped in the high teens a few times but keep it around 58 and leave the bathroom door open. So fare so good Bill
  11. The guy forgot to mention that my truck is a diesel and also has Jake brakes. It tows 7,700.00 pounds compared to a gas Canyon with a 5,500 lb tow capacity. I’ve weighed the truck and trailer several times on cat scales fully loaded and with full water, extra water, bikes and Kayaks and I come in more than 300 lbs under gross for the truck and the trailer weighs in at 5,600 lbs and the tongue weight is right where it should be. It’s almost light on the tongue with the e-bikes on the back but is ok. we’ve towed about 10,000 miles so far and it seems fine. Been through the smokies, Catskills and the white mountains with out a problem. Would a bigger truck be better ? maybe we are at its limit, but still within the manufacturers specifications. But getting 20mpg towing and 24 not towing and the truck fits in my garage is worth something. Plus my truck is my everyday vehicle and pulling the trailer is only about 5% of its use. Sometimes you need to make some calculated decisions to make it work. Bill
  12. We were on our Way home from the Hershey PA show when we stopped to stretch our legs. A couple came up to us and said they had been following us for about 20 miles hoping we would stop so they could see our trailer. It turned out they had a you tube channel. You never know who you might meet on the road. Bill
  13. I did something wrong because the photos dont show unless you click on them.
  14. This should be the link for the motion sensitive strip lights. Im not sure where I got the puck light but they have them on amazon but they come in packages of 3 or more. I think I may have got it at Lowes or Home depot. I think I attached the link and the photo file correctly I wanted to put titles on them but I cant seem to do it. The motion lights have a metal strip that sticks with sticky tape to the trailer. Then the light stick with magnets to the strip with rare earth magnets. So it makes it easy to take them down to put in batteries. Hope this helps Bill IMG_0029.HEICIMG_0029.HEICIMG_0029.HEICIMG_0030.HEICIMG_0031.HEICIMG_0032.HEIC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C9Q3DVH3 ref_=icdp_ba_mweb_mb_pd_bap_m_grid_rp_0_20_pr_gf&clientRefMarker=pd_bap_m_grid_rp_0_20_pr_gf&heartsTeamIdentifier=buyagain&heartsViewId=FAVORITE_REORDERS&psc=1
  15. I'll check with Nancy she buys the stuff I just get the honey do list. I'll go out in the trailer now and get some pictures and find out where we got them and re post shortly Bill
  16. Nice job! I was lazy and found some battery operated stick on LED lights that are motion sensitive. The seem to work great and you just stick them on for us lazy folks. We put one in the pantry, the closet and the basement next to the access between the beds. I also stuck one that you touch to turn on above the main switch panel. I always hated at night I cant see the black witches without a flash light. Now I just touch the light and it comes on so I can see the switches. So far it's been 2 seasons without needing new batteries. An inexpensive solution that takes no time to or skill to install, just peal and stick. Bill
  17. Glad the rack is still working we haven't had much time to play but God willing that is about to change. As of January 1st we Retired. We sold our business to our long time employee and she will continue to run our Bird store hopefully for may years to come. We will still be working for another month or so until she settles in and finds an employee to replace us. We hope to travel later this summer and put some miles on our Oliver. Hopefully we will bump into some of you on the road. God Bless Bill and Nancy
  18. Thanks Josh also replied to an email
  19. I can't seem to find the location where Oliver wll be at the Hershey show this year 2024. I know they said that they will be located 1.6 miles from the main show. Does anyone know the address. Thanks Bill and Nancy
  20. We have a GMC diesel Canyon and we love it. Will pull our elite II at hi-way speed up and over every thing we’ve been over. Been over the smokies Aderondaks in NY and the Whites of NH with no problem. on Average we get about 24MPG and 19MPG while towing. The small truck fits in my garage and it’s my everyday driver.
  21. Thanks for the help I think I will try the garden hose trick and leave it connected and coiled up. As far as the leaky valve I will lube the valve but I think it’s out of adjustment because it has leaked from day one. We have a Lavio toilet so we only have only gray water. We also noticed when we had the pump on by mistake we used a portion of our fresh water. Its not a problem I just wanted to understand how it worked just in case we turned the pump on by accident when hooked to city water.
  22. My wife said the same thing, I tend to make this difficult. Do you find that you gray water shut off doesn’t shut completely. Ours leaks quite a bit with it fully closed.
  23. this is a two part question that I feel rather stupid asking. Is there any harm in running the water pump while be hooked up to city water. This past trip we inadvertently turned on the water pump to run the water while being hooked up to city water. We hardly ever stay where there are hook ups so out of habit we would turn the pump on to use the water while being hooked up to city water. The other question is I find it hard to connect and disconnect the gray and black water drain hose because it sits about a foot in from the bumper. It’s not a huge problem because we only have gray water so it is less of a mess if it leaks. I have a few ideas on how to move the plumbing to an easier location but I’m sure someone has done it already. Bill
  24. When Nancy and I picked up out Olie last October we spent the better part of a day at the Nuclear Museum in Oak Ridge. It was on our way back home but I dont think it was that far away. We found it very interesting
  25. We showed our trailer to some customers who came into our store because they had heard we had an Oliver and asked us to see it. so we had them come by on the following Sunday and spent a better part of an afternoon with them. We filled out the forms on line and never heard boo from Oliver and as far as I know the prospective buyers never got contacted from Oliver either. Don’t hold me to that but I never heard anything back from either party. About a month later I got a call from Oliver with a referral and we spent another afternoon with a nice couple from a nearby town. We told them to consider a new trailer because of the upgrades to the heat , ac and refrigerator in the 2023 model instead of a buying the used 2022 they had a line on in Florida. We thought the extra mods were worth the mob. But they ended up buying the used 2022 in Florida. . Anyway we did get the $50.00 added to our card for showing the trailer to the 2nd couple. We also found out that the rewards card that Oliver uses has a lot of issues from the provider, not Oliver. So as soon as we got the card we ran it through our credit card machine at our store and took the cash. Bill
