  1. Thank you for that update. I'm happy to hear Truma acknowledged its error and refunded the repair cost. Hopefully the issue has been fixed for future units.
  2. Thank you for another great video. I travel with 2 Pugs and they definitely take up way more of the bed than their small bodies would suggest. I've never seen the Mud Busters but have them on my Amazon Oliver list. Also, I just ordered the Magma stackable stainless steel cookware set. They're apparently at the lowest price on Amazon in 30 days. Thank you for that recommendation.
  3. Thanks for all this info. It's very helpful. I'm doing the reverse of you...doing a plant tour after order. Our tour is scheduled for Sept 11. Did Anita show you samples of the new countertops for 2023? I understand they no longer will be fiber-granite but instead will be solid surface acrylic. Congratulations again on your order.
  4. I also chose the Midnight decor, with black and silver-grey metallic graphics. I wrote my 2nd deposit check today. You'll have a few months before you have to cut the 2nd check and finalize your options
  5. Well, if you're that unsure, then you should decide later or say no. As for me, I considered an Oliver before my last rv purchase and then purchased a Lance instead. That was a wrong decision I since regretted. So now...I'm getting an Oliver, but for a whole lot more money than I would have paid 3 years ago.
  6. I just finalized my options today on a 2023 model to be delivered early January. Yikes! But, after having several issues with a traditionally-built trailer and an entirely unacceptable experience with the dealer who sold it to me, the value of the Oliver, with its superior construction and level of customer and fellow owners support, makes it worth the premium cost.
  7. August 20th is the date by which I have to finalize my options on an Elite II. I have everything sorted except one -- the backup camera. I had a backup camera on my previous travel trailer. It wasn't great and frankly I rarely used it. The camera option on the 2023 Oliver is $850. That's a lot of money for an option I may not use, if at all. I'm curious about others' thoughts and recommendations. Do you have it, do you use it, do you find it worthwhile?
  8. I ordered my Elite II on July 7th this year with a $2500. The buyer has 7 days to cancel without penalty. After that, Oliver will retain $1500. My trailer goes into production around November 20th. I have to either pay the remainder of the 50% deposit by August 20th (3 months prior to the start of production), or have approved financing plus a total of 15% of the purchase price paid by then. The buyer can add or delete options until the time the 2nd deposit is made (i.e., 90 days prior to production start). As for boondocking, I have only done so for a few days at a time. To avoid filling the grey water tank, we wash dishes outside using collapsible basins (one with soapy water and the other with rinse water). We take quick Navy showers, or use an outdoor solar shower with shower tent. We also bring drinking water in one gallon jugs to avoid using the fresh water tank. Enjoy your visit to Oliver, and best wishes on whatever you decide. I'll be taking the Oliver factory tour in September, but by then I will already have placed my 2nd deposit.
  9. I have Lectric bikes. For the money, they're hard to beat. I ride them in the hilly terrain of southeastern AZ and I can go about 20 miles or so without issue. I have not found a bin large enough to fit 2 Lectric bikes and still fit into a trailer. I haven't gotten my Oliver yet but they wouldn't fit in my Lance. I have ended up transporting them in the bed of the truck bungee corded in place. Not ideal but it works. Also, don't forget your bike keys and charger when you take them...I've done both and ended up transporting the bikes for nothing 😄
  10. I've ordered mine with no curtain. I had a Casita with the wet bath and never found it a big deal to dry off the bath. Also, battling with a clingy shower curtain in a small space is no fun.
  11. A Casita was my first RV too. I bought in in 2019 and kept it about 6 months. They are very well built and I really had no problems with it. I discovered I love RV'ing but also concluded the Casita wouldn't meet my needs long-term. It has really no insulation other than the carpeted walls. That means it can get very hot in the Arizona sun, and the A/C could not cool it adequately. The battery disconnect placement, right below the small dinette, meant I was routinely hitting and cutting my ankle on it. The size also was too small for me with 2 people and 2 small dogs. If you find you like RV'ing based on your experience with the Bambi, I suggest you consider what will work for you best in the long run. If it's the Casita, perfect. But otherwise, you may find yourself, like me, upgrading in the not too distant future.
  12. I'm a month away from having to finalize my options, too, so I bet we're taking delivery around the same time. I already have the upgraded mattresses on my options list. I've slept on the standard RV mattress with a mattress topper before, and am looking forward to a much more comfortable mattress and better nights sleep. They are pricey, and I'm sure heavy, but to me they're worth it.
  13. Thanks for the video on the Magma pans. I've got them on my Amazon list thanks to you. I love that they are made in the USA and not China, that they're stackable, and fit nicely in the overhead bins. I had a lot more storage in my previous travel trailer and really need to think about space and functionality for the Oliver. Great videos.
  14. I think there's at least one other major change coming with the 2023 models. The fiber-granite counters are being replaced with solid surface acrylic countertops. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but it is a change from all previous models.
  15. Great idea! I hope you'll let us know how that turns out...I may copy that idea 🙂
  16. Yes, you're right! My apologies. I checked...this is the fridge that will be used in the 2023 Oliver Elite II. It's an Isotherm CR130 EL: ISOTHERM Cruise 130 Elegance Silver, 4.6 cu.ft., AC/DC, Silver Door, 3-Sided Flange | West Marine
  17. My understanding from Oliver is that the 3-way refrigerator will no longer be offered in the Oliver because the manufacturer is discontinuing it. All 2023 Olivers, therefore, will be standard with the 2-way compressor refrigerator and, as noted already, the outside vent will be replaced with a small fold-down table, perfect for condiments, according to Oliver. I don't know the size of the freezer but, I agree, I'm happy not to have the vent cut-out and look forward to faster and more efficient refrigerator cooling. I'm guessing the Norcold compressor fridge that Oliver will install is this one: Norcold N305/ N306 - Refrigerator and freezer in a 2.5 cubic-foot unit. The freezer is definitely bigger than a kid's showbox. 🙂
  18. Katjo, I'm really enjoying your videos and organization tips. They'll be invaluable as I plan how to organize my Oliver when I pick it up in January. I have a somewhat unrelated question. Where did you get your bedspreads? Are they standard twin size? Thanks.
  19. Thank you, csevel! Yes, no doubt the Oliver is a big step up from the Casita. I never had any issues with the Casita in the relatively short time I owned it. It was a good 1st RV. Being in Arizona, however, the Casita is definitely not made for very hot weather; I could never get it cool inside. And, I found it just a bit too small for 2 people and 2 dogs. The build quality, though, was superb.
  20. Hello, Trainman. Yes, I fully understand there is no such thing as a completely trouble-free RV. Most RVs, however, are mass produced and sold through dealer networks. My experience with the dealers has been absolutely atrocious. When simple things go unfixed, even after weeks at a dealership, it is unacceptable. Oliver, I believe, takes pride in its craftsmanship and when things do arise, they respond timely to fix the issue. That's my hope, at least.
  21. The Lance 2075 is a nice trailer. It doesn't have much wood...it has an aluminum frame and Azdel walls. But, I had nuisance issues with it and the Lance dealer network in Arizona is horrible. The dealer is 3 hours away. I've had the trailer in multiple times for the same (albeit relatively minor) issues, and the dealer never fixed them. In the end, I really got fed up. Molded fiberglass is superior in every way. What's more, Oliver trailers are sold direct, not through dealers. The company has developed a reputation of standing behind its product and, I believe, with Oliver's approval, one can receive warranty service from any local RV service technician. Before buying any trailer, I would do your due diligence on the dealer. It's no fun to have your trailer in the shop for weeks at a time only to have the trailer returned to you with none of the issues fixed. In addition, I like the twin bed layout, the true 4 seasons capability, and the robust solar/battery/inverter options Oliver offers. Best wishes as you decide what trailer is right for you.
