Shower curtain rod removal

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

We are the second owners of our 2022 LE2.  It has a standard flush toilet and we love the wet bath.  It came with a shower curtain but we never use it and now we’re thinking about taking the curtain rod off the ceiling.  Has anyone tried this before?  Just want to make sure it comes off easy and doesn't take any gelcoat with it or leave any gummy stuff behind.  Any advice would be great!

Thank you

Never took one off, but we installed an OEM curtain traveler track...

To remove, unscrew the small stainless screws at the ends of the track.  The track has a double sided tape to help secure it to the gelcoat - pull track off slowly, use an orange plastic razor black so as not to scratch the gelcoat.  Use "Goof-Off" or a similar adhesive remover for the remaining residue.  Clean and wax when done - easy, peasy!

Thanks you @MAX Burner for your insight!  I may attempt this during some future trailer downtime.  It’s good to know how that track is put together, this gives me confidence in taking it apart 👍👍🙂

@Heather and Eric

You can also use a hair dryer to help loosen the double sided tape to get the adhesive to warm up and release from the gelcoat. If you warm it up enough you may not need to use Goof Off.

Thanks @Patriot!!  Yes good point we will try the hair dryer, and maybe some soap water and wax after that.

Mineral oil. Wd40. Orange goof off. Whatever is in the cabinet.

Original goof off is probably the least "work."

Yep, and a little elbow grease! Clean surfaces with rubbing alcohol to get the goo off and sometimes that's all you need.
