Oliver no longer selling through dealers?

Jason said it kind of oddly - they've been selling from the factory for years and that's how I got it as as West Coast dealers are sparse - but I think he means they're no longer going to sell through dealers. 

My guess would be the cost of the trailers and customization. One of the 'closest' dealers to me is a couple day drive over to Utah. I talked to them, but of course they didn't stock what I wanted so it was a custom order with a big downpayment. And the sales guy wasn't super helpful, I wanted the big 640 Lithionics which he pushed back on. "Those are too expensive!" 😅 Odd thing to say, my finances are my business, and I'm glad I got them even with the EV. Anyhow got tired of trying to work with them and just went straight to the factory as there was really no advantage to the dealer.

The Oliver factory sales is the best way to go.  The factory is honest and very helpful, always a great experience. Nice people there.

Lots of us saw this coming when they first announced they were going to dealer sales.

Yeah, I imagine the hope was to increase sales, but the original sales model was best, should have been left alone. Dealers are going to promote/sell where they get the greatest sales volume and profit margin which is not Oliver.

I think Oliver is getting some name recognition, and if this was the place to find a used one, or even a new one sold at the factory, all the better.

 

I say Oliver is getting name recognition because this week two sets of campers knew mine was an Oliver, and I have no decals on my trailer.  Both commented on the reputed build quality of Oliver.

I seem to recall that in the video Jason says that they will continue to act as service for Oliver's.

Depends on how busy they are.

 

We all got nervous when Oliver attempted to pull service.

Yes, but... RV dealers are notorious for not wanting to service RVs they didn't sell. I imagine they'll still do warranty work but I'll bet they won't be interested in non-warranty service of a brand they no longer carry. Time will tell.

high prices, over-charging, service calendars booked months out, shoddy work, all they care about is new RV sales! 🤣

Just hear-say though, since I have no real experience in this area. Years ago, with a Class-C, I called to make an appointment and I replied no-thank-you after hearing they were taking appointments 3+ months out and you'd have to leave it there for a few weeks! They'll "work you in."

We have a new business that opened recently in town. It's a great concept! They do not sell RVs, but only service HD trucks and RVs. If you need service, look for a place like this in your neighborhood. Get your TV and TT serviced with one company at the same time!

If this company does what they say they are going to do then I predict that they will soon need a much bigger service building.  Good luck to them.
