John E Davies Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Has anyone seen this cutie? It appears to have a really great build quality but it is not equal to the Olivers. Base price is $14K and the removable and optional modules are sure to add up very fast. http://inhabitat.com/solar-powered-retro-modern-happier-camper-hc1-features-a-lego-like-interior/ Check out the pictures in their brochures: https://happiercamper.com/wp-content/themes/Happier%20Camper/pdfs/happier-camper-brochure.pdf https://happiercamper.com/wp-content/themes/Happier%20Camper/pdfs/happier-camper-adaptiv.pdf All this, yet it can't go off road, despite the pictures, and it only has a one year warranty.... I wonder what MSRP on a loaded version would be? I am not sure why it has both a gaping cargo hatch AND a side door. That seems too much in a trailer this size. How about a combination cargo/ man door in back only...? The contoured solar panel is neat, but it is a poor choice for warm climates since the panel will overheat and can even cause structural roof damage. Solar panels get really hot and need air circulation. I do think that having the option to carry large cargo is a fantastic feature. You would have to be really careful to not scratch up the gelcoat inside. Comments? Moderators SeaDawg Posted May 3, 2017 Moderators Posted May 3, 2017 Base price now is 18900. Plus modules. I've seen it online a number of times in various news feeds. Trying to figure out how they reconnect gas and water, etc, and revert from cargo mode. If it even has water and gas tanks. My guess is, it's a very basic trailer, with outdoor shower? Though I haven't dug that far into it. As I already have a trailer I love, and a truck bed for the ATV... The rear door is a bit of a mystery, and possibly problematic in the long run. They rent them in LA and Windsor.. if anyone wants a closer look. Absolutely love the fender flares, though. And the mid mod protruding tail lights. It would , honestly, look great with my stepside Silverado... cute. Love the mooncaps, too. Don't love 14" tires, and probably primitive interior, and no gas? Or am I missing something? Wish them luck. The egg camper did ok with all electric. There's a German camper with a Lego type interior, too. I've seen it several times, as well. I'll see if I can find the name. I love a lot of the German and Australian campers. Tiny, every inch used, sleek. Oh. Maybe that's my description of my own trailer? Yeah. Moderators Mike and Carol Posted May 3, 2017 Moderators Posted May 3, 2017 I checked these out when they first came out. Cute and innovative. Not for me, but I hope they are successful. Mike Texas Hill Country | 2016 Elite II #135 | 2020 Ram 2500 6.7L Cummins
Galileo Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I just saw one for the first time yesterday at Glacial Lake SP - had to look it up. Apparently, they don’t get much bigger than this one. Web site says they ARE double-wall fiberglass - but weigh way less. I haven’t talked to the owners yet, but curious how they like it. 2022 Oliver Legacy Elite II Hull #1029 King Bed Floorplan electronics package Truma Aqua-Go LOUD Dometic Penguin A/C LevelMate Pro+ Valterra Electric Black Tank Dump Valve TV - 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali, 3.0l Duramax Diesel, Crew Cab 4WD (17.9mpg towing, 35mpg clean) RealTruck hard tonneau cover Rove R2-4K DashCams Canada: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island

Mountainman198 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) They used to make a larger model called the traveler. I came real close to buying one seven yrs ago from a dealer in Denver (same dealer that used to sell Olivers). Price on this particular new HC traveler was less than $30k but there were several issues with fit and finish that I was not comfortable with (e.g. big gaps around door when closed, modular cubes were warped). Nice little trailer and I hope the quality issues have been resolved. Edited 45 minutes ago by Mountainman198 2021 Elite II, Hull# 898 2018 Toyota Tundra, 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9l SRW
Todd B Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago We looked at these for a while as well. I like them, but for us, they were too utilitarian. Todd & Kat 2023 LE ll twin, hull # 1305, Truma AC & WH, Platinum solar, Natures Head 2024 Ford F250 Lariat 7.3L gasser / 3.75, FX4

Funny thing - if you enter “Happier Camper” into the Google search page - first hit that comes up is “www.OliverTravelTrailers.com”. Apparently, someone at OTT marketing has some web savvy! 😂 2022 Oliver Legacy Elite II Hull #1029 King Bed Floorplan electronics package Truma Aqua-Go LOUD Dometic Penguin A/C LevelMate Pro+ Valterra Electric Black Tank Dump Valve TV - 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali, 3.0l Duramax Diesel, Crew Cab 4WD (17.9mpg towing, 35mpg clean) RealTruck hard tonneau cover Rove R2-4K DashCams Canada: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island
