TexasMarshall Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 We r headed to Dallas in a couple of weeks for Christmas with the kids. Going to stop in San Antonio overnight to do the river walk. It’s awesome at Christmas with all the lights! 1 TexasMarshall
Moderators Mike and Carol Posted December 10, 2018 Moderators Posted December 10, 2018 We’re going to run over to Houston for a few days to be with our son and family for Christmas. We might take the trailer and camp at Stephen F Austin State Park. We were there earlier this month, nice and peaceful. Depends on the weather. Agree that the Riverwalk here is magical this time of year with all the lights! Mike 1 Texas Hill Country | 2016 Elite II #135 | 2020 Ram 2500 6.7L
Moderators SeaDawg Posted December 10, 2018 Moderators Posted December 10, 2018
We're staying home. Had early Christmas visits from part of our family, and that was wonderful. Went to the Home Free acapella concert in Tampa last week... lighted boat parade in Clearwater last weekend... I love the Christmas season.
1 2008 Ram 1500 4 × 4 2008 Oliver Elite, Hull #12 Florida and Western North Carolina, or wherever the truck goes.... 400 watts solar. DC compressor fridge. Moderator+ ScubaRx Posted December 10, 2018 Moderator+ Posted December 10, 2018 Going to Muncie, IN to be with one daughter. Probably will not take the trailer. That way we can go in the GMC Canyon diesel instead of the Silverado Beast. The Canyon gets 35 mpg vs the Silverado's 22 mpg. 1 Steve, Tali and our dog Rocky plus our beloved dogs Storm, Lucy, Maggie and Reacher (all waiting at the Rainbow Bridge) 2008 Legacy Elite I - Outlaw Oliver, Hull #026 | 2014 Legacy Elite II - Outlaw Oliver, Hull #050 | 2022 Silverado High Country 3500HD SRW Diesel 4x4
Moderators topgun2 Posted December 11, 2018 Moderators Posted December 11, 2018 I did a 1/2 Ironman triathlon in Muncie a number of summers ago. The pavement was so hot that my shoes stuck to the tar in the pavement with each step on the run. What was I thinking? After spending the first 25 years of our marriage traveling during the holidays, it sure is nice to go to church, put an extra log on the fire, relax, go for a short hike on Christmas day to feed the animals in the forest and generally do nothing. My BMW X5d can manage that (if I don't drive fast!) , but then it is newer so has a bunch of emissions "stuff", I'm sure. I once got 63 mpg in our F-350 diesel SD, but that was driving downhill, off Santiam Pass (Oregon). Looked good on the dash display, though :) Ray and Susan Huff Elite II Twin "Pearl" - Hull#699; delivered December 7, 2020 2013 F350 6.7l diesel Super Duty 4x4 long bed crew cab 1UP-USA Heavy-duty bike rack 2017 Leisure Travel Van Unity Twin Bed (sold)
Moderator+ ScubaRx Posted August 8, 2020 Moderator+ Posted August 8, 2020 I looked back to see how that trip's mileage turned out. We did a lot of driving around in town once there and it brought down our average. Still not too bad.
