Moderators SeaDawg Posted October 4, 2008 Moderators Share Posted October 4, 2008 On another forum, I found a link to a map site. Here, you can create a map colorcoded with the states you've visited with your Oliver.... Go to http://www.epgsoft.com/VisitedStatesMap/ Click on the states you've visited in the list, save in the format you like and the size you like, and upload like a normal photo. I added mine to our signature line in user control panel. I thought it was kind of fun to see where we'd been this year in the Oliver. Sherry PS If you don't like this one, google "map states visited" and you'll find a number of other programs to do the same thing..... 2008 Ram 1500 4 × 4 2008 Oliver Elite, Hull #12 Florida and Western North Carolina, or wherever the truck goes.... 400 watts solar. herm
Anyone know how 'visited' is typically defined? I assume it means camped/overnighted, not merely driven through? Herm
Moderator+ ScubaRx Posted October 15, 2008 Moderator+ Share Posted October 15, 2008 As far as defining what "visited" means, to us if we have spent all day driving thru a state, we've visited it whether we spent the night or not. If I touch the state line, I've been there. Everyone can feel free to make up their own definition. Moderators SeaDawg Posted October 4, 2009 Author Moderators Share Posted October 4, 2009 Tom, as a group we might just come really close to covering the whole map. Interesting idea. technomadia
Awesome idea, Sherry! Just added our map to our signature too.. (of course, who knows if we'll remember to update it as we add more states!) - Cherie
Moderators SeaDawg Posted December 9, 2009 Author Moderators Share Posted December 9, 2009 Someone asked me the other day how to get his map into his sig. Instructions are in the first post of this thread. Mountainborn, I see you've found another map-making service, and I like the solid color better than the many colors of the one I used. Care to share the link? Thanks. Sherry 2008 Ram 1500 4 × 4 2008 Oliver Elite, Hull #12 Florida and Western North Carolina, or wherever the truck goes.... 400 watts solar. DC compressor fridge. Moderators mountainborn Posted December 10, 2009 Moderators Share Posted December 10, 2009 Thought I would give it a try, found it at : http://www.world66.com/myworld66 It seems to respond ok. Was a way for us to look into areas we have little travel experience in. Seems as though we need to work on the corners of the USA ! I would rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on earth 08' Oliver Legacy Elite HULL NUMBER 0003(sold)
Moderators SeaDawg Posted December 17, 2009 Author Moderators Share Posted December 17, 2009 We agree, especially since we reside in one of those corners!! Hope to see you in Florida this winter. 2008 Ram 1500 4 × 4 2008 Oliver Elite, Hull #12 Florida and Western North Carolina, or wherever the truck goes.... 400 watts solar. DC compressor fridge.
