Organizer - space saver

Recommended Posts

Bought this on Amazon since we are temporarily living in the trailer.  Seems like it's going to work.  Put a bit of cushy styro behind top corners - bottom has suction cups.

That's great!  Looks like something you'd find at Ikea.

Is the width adjustable, or did it just happen to fit?  How much space is there between the top of the rack and the bottom of the upper cabinet?

4.5" between top of basket and underside of cabinet but you can move these baskets around to suit.  It is not adjustable side to side.  I measured and knew it would fit.

Sure.  Note that this is for longer stays as depending on your faucet you have to screw in the lower bar (2 screws) after you set it behind the sink.  Unless you are comfortable traveling with it in place.

The rack itself may stay in place while traveling. Definitely  have it empty before hitting the road.

Thanks

Is there room for the lower basket to fit behind the faucet?

No Susan but so far it is making life a lot easier for me.  We dont have a gas cooktop (we have a portable induction cooktop we use outside or I could use it on the dinette in bad weather) so that may be an issue for some.

I sure wish Oliver did more in this area, like maybe built in pegboard type system that each could modify their areas as they like and need.

We drove cross country with the rack in place.  I threw a towel over it to cushion against fiberglass and removed anything that could bounce out.  No problemo.  Still love it and it's working for me although I do not have a cooktop built in (separate induction unit).

Or, how about something like this?

That was a neat addition to the kitchen - I’ve always liked it. Was it only in the original LE2 prototype or did some make it into customers’ hands?  Here’s another shot - note the fiber granite sink cover also:

Considering the beveled edge of the counter, I would say yes, some sort of solid surface counter top.  Heavier than fiber granite, but with less worry of heat damage.

And what is the louvered vent on the wall next to the sink?

Actually this counter was a prototype on one of the Oliver family trailers.  It was decided that the Corian was too heavy and they developed the Fibergranite tops that we have today.

That was for venting the microwave.

I expected weight was the reason Corian is not used in the Oliver.  Also, the fact that Fibergranite counters can be made in-house.  I just wish the latter had the durability of solid surface materials.

And I wish Corian was as crack resistant as Fibergranite.  Just my opinion😇
